Oh I really got headache and too tired of looking and searching.

My case has been 18weeks at the NVC and every call they say not reviewed yet/at the supervisor review/ or at the department review/

and now Mr. Trump came with this new ban, which I don't know exactly how badly will affect my !130 case in this stage since I am from Syria and my wife is originally from Iraq.

Just a note: Yes I am Syrian and I live in Lebanon, but am not a refugee, I live here on a student resident, and have newly graduated to become full time church pastor. I had visited the USA three time during the last four years, and we even got married in the USA.

How my case sounds bad to you guys?

Thanks

God Willing, your case is fine. And most likely will not be affected by the ban. The ban has not been enacted and thus you should be fine. Hopefully you will get a CC soon. Have you had the chance to speak to a supervisor in regards to your case? I wish you the best of luck.

Appreciate taking the time to write that, but first why 18weeks and nothing? it is too much. Second I am really worried of this actions by the new president.

So based on what you and many others have said and clearly what most timelines are looking like, it's roughly taking 8 weeks+ for CC or check listed. Should I not even bother calling and checking on my case until it reaches 8 weeks?

Correct - I think it actually added MORE stress because I was calling so often. The only benefit was to know when it had finally hit the review department, because then at least I knew some progress was being made. Even less than 24 hours before my case completed, though, I called the rep and was crying uncontrollably because she just said the same thing as everyone else - "your case is where it needs to be, you just need to be patient ma'am, there's nothing I can do," etc.

I have no clue why it would take so long. Have you called and requested to speak to a supervisor? If not, then I believe you really should. I was worried too at first, but I've realized that I can not worry about what is not in my control at the moment. I have to stay positive for my own sanity and trust that everything will work out.

I really believe you will have no problems about the ban, your case is being process and hopefully soon you will receive your CC. Call at their later hours or at the time they open and request to speak to a supervisor, as it seems it's easier to get a hold of them then.

Trump's executive order targets the refugees, there is talk that they will suspend issuing Visas for resudents of several countries including Syria for 39 days, this order has not been signed yet, even if it does, the worst that it will do to you is delay your Visa for 39 days, but you Haven't cleared the NVC so you should be fine... stay strong :)

What does your checklist say?? It should say on the third page whether you need to send something in or bring it to the interview. For example, my checklist states, "While we will schedule your case for an interview, blah blah blah blah." This means I only need to bring the sheet to the interview. What does yours say??

Thanks for your advice. I'll call when it hits 6 weeks just to do a general check and then see what happens from there. For now I'll keep my mind busy with activities with my husband and daughter (we're finally taking a vacation) and focus on my writing. :)

To be honest with you I never spoke to the NVC. Since I live in Lebanon and my wife lives in USA, therefore, she is the one who always talk to them. My wife doesn't like to call NVC more than a time a week, and she never talk to the supervisor, I just asked her to call them again today, and request that. But because she called them yesterday and nothing was new for her to hear. She says "They always say the same, NO new thing happened", therefore, she doesn't want to call them today. May be if nothing new happens by next week, she call them and request that.

Thanks and God bless all our cases,

Prayerfully

Perhaps when your wife calls, she can tell the rep that it's been 18+ weeks, and that she would like to speak with a supervisor and wouldn't mind remaining on hold until one comes available. The best times to call are 7:00 am - 9:00 am EST and 10:00 pm - 11:45 pm EST. This is just my own personal advice.

Amen to your prayer.

@afortunada How long did it take them to send you a confirmation email that your case has been closed

Well, I received an e-mail two days later, but that's only because I received a checklist for needing to bring a document (even though we already included it in the initial submission) to the interview. If you don't have a checklist and it's just a regular "case complete," then you should get the e-mail about a week later I think.

Wonderful! I just got off the phone with NVC and since yesterday, our case has moved to "document review," and we have been there before obviously with our RFE, and we got an update within three days. Here's hoping it will be done by early next week!

I asked the lady if our case was on supervisor review still and she did not understand my question, just restated that the case moved to document review. I will call tomorrow and ask again.

Awesome. Okay, i will be calling them on Monday to see how far our case is. We should be close in timeline with you guys since we have the same scan date. We went through this whole process twice now.. It is super frustrating. Let's see how long it will take. Thanks for your response :)
