Called the NVC on Friday, decided to ask for a Spanish representative, asked about my case and got told is currently being reviwed. Told me I'm coming up on my sixth week of supervisor review and the rep told me it shouldn't pass this week ! Praying for all of us that don't have cc yet ! We will make it !

P.S. Did you choose the option in the beginning to press 2 for Spanish? Or did you ask to be transferred after receiving an English-speaking rep? I've often wondered if wait times would be more or less if I did the calls in Spanish.

Thank you for a reply. We are only married in Denmark, but we're not muslims either. I just have a feeling that he hates LGBT people as much as he hates muslims. So I am afraid that he can use that executive orders just to temporary halt visa issuance for LGBT spouses, until he decides what to do with them permanently?

So do you have any clue what are those changes?

He doesn't hate LGBT people, and even if he did, a law or executive order or anything he might get to pass, that affected one group of people differently from another would be considered discriminatory and would not fly in the supreme court.  The spin on the muslim ban as it was called by the media is just that, a spin, he actually said he would stop immigration from countries with ties to terrorism.  Are you saying all muslim are terrorists? Media went there because and nobody batted an eye... Regardless, even if he said he wanted to ban all muslims from coming in, again, it wouldn't fly because of the anti-discrimination laws (such as the civil rights act of 1964).

Also, this slowdown in processing is because of an executive order passed by Obama.  DACA - deferred action for childhood arrivals is basically a right to work and no-deportation.  This applies to "children" under 31 years of age... Wikipedia estimates around 1.7 million illegals are eligible for this.

Do the math... USCIS and NVC used to push around 300-400k immigration cases per year.  In 2012 you bumrush 1.7 million people through the system.  What do you think will happen? And you bet these people got in front of us all because of the election - yes, officially they're not allowed to vote, unofficially he encouraged them to vote... and there are no Voter ID laws in many liberal states such as California, NY, MN, etc...

I do hope that gets repealed and the madness - of us people trying to do this the right way - can get a break and be together with our families.

Hi everybody
I'm new here I was hoping to find out more about the NVC process and share my VJ with you guys. So I'm try to make it as simple as possible.
I130 sent on November 13
1st Noa: on November 16/2015 thy received my i130
2nd NOA: on May 26/2016 that my case was transferred to a 26feadrl plaza N.Y and I have to show up for the uscis interview was for me the petitioner witch I head to go back to the US for.
3rd Noa: July 5/2016 case was approved
July 24/2016 I requested for Expedite
July 27/ 16 I received notification that the us embassy or consulate are willing to expedite my case once the NVC has received all required documents and fees
July 29 I received my welcome letter
August 1 I paid AOS fee and completed ds261choice of agent and address
August 10/2016 I called NVC and I got ds261 reviewed on the phone I was told to wait 3-7 days for IV fee to show up but nothing happened so after the 7days pass I started calling avery other day sense .
I sent AOS package and iv package together August 18 bye ups it was received on 19th I received notification from NVC that thy received on 23 and the my scan dat is the 19 of August
On September 2nd I was put under supervisor review I was told to what 60 day but I didn't I kept on calling daily
On the September 19th I received a checklist for the DS260 and that the NVC will not review my documents till its submitted September 21 I was able to pay iv fee 23 I submitted my ds260 on November 4th I got a checklist for missing the ethiopian police clearance witch the government of the country dose not give one in less it's  asked from a government agency and special ween my wife is not an ethiopian it was even more difficult to get one. I ended up getting the police clearance for here after showing Tham the checklist however I sent in my documents on November 14th my scan date is November 15 . I called 3 weeks later asking what has happened to the expedite processing. I was told that my expedite was dined and there's no expedite made me go #,#,#&##&$€!£&2$&€£3÷£3& however I ended up waiting the 6 weeks to review but still nothing I called January 4 and was told sorry bye Friday night it will be done call back Monday to confirm so I did that and I was told my case was put on supervisor review and that I have to wait 6 weeks I swear I have never every dropped so many tears in my life or felt the way I felt that day. It's the  second time the case was put on supervisor review and till this day nothing yet. :angry:
That's my story till this point I was just wondering if anyone has any ideas on how much can this tack and how does this willing to expedite means or its just BS thy tell you ween they really just want to get read of you ...
If you read the howl thank you for your time. ..

I don't believe NVC processes DACA cases at all, so I'm pretty sure that has nothing to do with our slow down.

Wait time was about the same; but you choose 2 at the beginning

Congrats!  Were you on supervisor review?  And please let us know when you are scheduled for an interview - I believe they expedite Canadian cases.

I-130 (for parents of US Citizens):

8/19/2022: NOA (IOE0917XXXXXX); Texas Service Center

7/22/2023: Both (parents) petitions approved

7/27/2023: Both cases sent to NVC

8/8/2023: Received NVC welcome email for both parents

2. Write down your case number. It is a series of three letters and 10 numbers with no dashes or spaces. An example NVC case number looks like this: MNL2013524001.

3. Split the figures as follows: LLL NNNN NNN NNN, where "L" is a letter and "N" is a number.

4. Read the three letters from the left. This is the code for the U.S. consulate that has jurisdiction over the visa applicant's location. It is where you will get a visa interview. For example, "MNL" refers to the U.S. consulate in Manila.

5. Read the first four numbers following the letters. In this example it is "2013." This is the year that the NVC received the visa application.

6. Read the next three numbers. This is the day of the year in which the case was received. It is the figure minus 500. For example, "524" means NVC got the package on the 24th day of the year, January 24.

7. Read the last three numbers in the case number. It tells you the order it was assigned to the consulate that day. In this example, it is "001" so it was the first case created for the Manila consulate on Jan. 24, 2013.

Hope this can guide you well,

Best of luck

This is very interesting info. I have 020 in last 3 does it mean my case was the 20th in that particular day? that will be many cases indeed but possible since NRB (Nairobi) consulate does process multiple countries and my wife is from neighboring country. I had it takes up to 3 months after CC to get an interview scheduled and I know of a relative that had her family getting their interview 3 months after CC and they are on Admin processing since October 2016 even though the requested document was already submitted. I understand other consulates may be less busier.

Still waiting for my CC as my second scan was Dec 12th due to an RFE received Nov 17th where I forgot to sign AOS. I will call NVC tonight as the phone is still busy. My first scan was Sept 27th so this is getting to be a long wait very frustrating.

I don't believe either that NVC processes DACA cases it's processed solely by USCIS and folks don't have delays in processing by USCIS the bottleneck is NVC. My case was approved by USCIS in 2.5 months.

Sorry guys, can you give some insight? ;) My category is employment based so AOS fee should not be payed. From the first day it's status is EXEMPT (not PAID as family-based visas).

Should this EXEMPT change to N/A when Case is Complete or my only way is to call-call-and-call NVC?....   As I understand Case status will show "At NVC" without any changes even after Case complete..

Mine is also employment based and mine stayed EXEMPT till my case completion. I had to call to check when my case was complete. Strangely enough, now almost 2 weeks post case completion, it has changed to N/A from EXEMPT.

Hope this helps :)

Congrats! My case was completed on jan 17th. Have you received an email from NVC saying that the case is completed? Just wondering how much time the email takes once the case is completed. Thanks.
