It means the supervisor was notified that the case has waited longer than 6 weeks. However, there are a lot of cases (essentially all) that wait longer than that, so there is a "queue" for the "queue" basically. So while they were notified, there isn't anything they can do because they have people who they were notified about 2 weeks before you that still haven't been looked at.

Supervisor review goes in order just like the normal review process, so it really is nothing special. They were notified, but a supervisor is only one person so all they can do is tell the team to "move quicker".

The email thing is something I think they just need to say to try to get less people to call. However most people here have shown that if you waited for an email you would find out at least a few days if not a week after your case is complete. Now that may not make any difference in the grand scheme of things (since you wno't have an interview date or anything), most people still prefer to know sooner so they keep calling. I don't think calling does anything other than just keep you up to date.

For example, when I got a checklist it was over the phone when I called to check in. They told me over the phone what we needed. We got the email but it was like 4 days later. By that time we were already mailing the document back to them so if we had waited for an email our second scan date would have been like a week later.

yeah...I know that, thank you for the detail explaination

just waiting for almost 30mins and get out the phone within 5mins, make me wanna shout out something

finger cross...I hope to see my CC sooooon

Someone with more legal knowledge would be better answering your questions. To my knowledge immigration is not something he can just write an 'executive order' on. It has to go through the legislative branch first (checks and balances).

Furthermore, our supreme court ruled that gay marriages had to be treated "equal" to "traditional" marriages. Without the supreme court changing that ruling, I can't see how the legislative branch or the President could sign into law something that specifically treats gay marriages as "different" from a legal standpoint. If we recognise gay marriage in our country, we have to recognise gay marriages done outside the country.

That is my opinion. Hopefully I'm not wrong.

Even if he was to put a temporary stop, he would ask the USCIS to stop approving petitions. If you are at the NVC stage, you should be past his radar.

I have the exact same dates, and they told me the exact same thing today! What a coincidence. I also asked the same question about whether it meant someone was physically looking. They told me "It is in the department to be physically looked at" so maybe a little bit behind. Mine is only 1 page from a checklist though so whenever someone does physically look at it, it will be quick.

Dem/Rep doesn't matter for us. There won't be any changes to CR-1 anytime soon I imagine. We aren't the "targets" since we are doing everything legal (and our reward is a very long wait time).

ours package is the original, not sure how long it will take to get this thru.  Obviously, there could be a checklist but I will hope against that outcome.

I will be happy to get any information and any action so I know what is coming next for us. maybe its a week.... maybe it is longer then that.  I didnt ask when it arrived there for the review,

Listen guys, I think I got to know why all our cases are stuck at the NVC. It is because they didn't meet their current date in the Visa Bulletin, and this is ONLY for who's sponsor is holding a Lawful permit resident in the USA (F2A visa type), not for the Citizen sponsors. The case has to be reviewed and completed and also to meet it's current date before to go to schedule the interview.

Sadly, but I think I'll need to wait more

At this point you still could get a checklist. I would keep calling because if you wait for the email about the checklist it will delay you getting the documents by a few days.

Our original scan date was back in September. We waited 9 weeks to get a checklist for a single page document. Now we have the same dates with you, but with our checklist. You just never know.

Hope to hear something soon.  like I said, don;t know the time to do an actual physical review of the paperwork. Seems to be to be very straight forward.  The reports are there and complete unless i missed something. positive attitude for the week.  maybe this week, maybe not.

IIRC, when i was waiting before they told me they were "reviewing" the documents like 4 or 5 days before I called and got the "checklist". That seems about reasonable to me as well, a few days to review the paperwork. I'm sure it is on a case by case basis (translations and such may take more time to authenticate). Our paperwork was all in English, no sponsor required, no special circumstances. Pretty standard. A few days seems reasonable. That being said since we don't know when they actually start literally touching it (Being in the "department" doesn't mean it is being touched) it is hard to say really. Fingers crossed for both of us.

9 weeks today! Just got off the phone with an NVC agent. Got a different answer than the usual "it's in the right department". The agent actually pulled up my new birth certificate they received to verify if it was correct and then forwarded it to the supervisor with a note for review. Told me to call back next Monday. Hoping to be complete before 10 weeks.

Scan Date: 19 Dec 2016

3 N/A : 23 JAN 2017

Email Received from NVC.

Anyone knows how long it takes to schedule interview at Islamabad Embassy ?

Good Luck to ALL.

Sounds like some people have heard that they are scheduling people during the first two weeks of next month. Not that the date will be then, but that you'll get a date then. You could try the "Middle East" subforum regarding specifics about the Islamabad Embassy.

I feel like overall people would like the NVC more if they were more consistent and clear on what they can/cannot do. Most of them will tell you they can't do anything to alter your place in line, but then you hear about a few cases where they state that they do. Congrats!

Congrats!  My best guess is that they will start scheduling interviews at the end of the month (next week) for March interview dates.  You can check the embassy review times on this site to see what the recent timelines were for your embassy.

Yeah, I was expecting the same old answer from them "case is in the review department, expect an email..."but this person actually opened my file and saw the document and asked me questions about it.
