Unfortunately, not yet.  I assume my attorney is still waiting for a call-back from an NVC supervisor.  I just emailed his office for an update....

Thank you so much for the good wishes... I greatly appreciate it.

One Year Contact Requirement

Immigration and Nationality Act (INA) section 203(g) provides that the Secretary of State shall terminate the registration (petition) of any alien who fails to apply for an immigrant visa within one year of notice of visa availability. The petition may be reinstated if, within two years of notice of visa availability, the alien establishes that the failure to apply was for reasons beyond the alien’s control. Therefore if you do not respond to notices from the NVC within one year you risk termination of your petition under this section of law and would lose the benefits of that petition, such as your priority date.

Sometimes I have to redial 15 times before I can get beyond that first message :( Very early mornings or around 11:00 AM Central Time are usually when I have the best luck.

I'm feeling so depressed about the lack of news all around, so I thought I'd share this funny (true) story....

I have an Amazon parrot who is eighteen years old. He loves to talk and sing and whistle.

Well, even though the wait time is longer, I prefer the NVC reps and supervisors that work at night, so I usually call in the evenings. I start the call from my car on the way home from work and then usually have my phone sitting on the counter on speaker phone while I prepare dinner. Now, you all know that wait music very well... "Do do do dooooo, do do do doooo doo do dooooooo" etc etc. Well, I kid you not, but my bird has heard it so many times recently that he has started singing along. It's not perfect, mind you, but he definitely has the general tune down. Equally depressing and heart-warming, right?! I want to get a video, but there's no way to do it while on the phone with NVC. Here's a picture of him, instead :)
