This group is for people whose petitions are currently at the NVC (National Visa Center). Your are currently at the USCIS (United States Citizenship and Immigration Services) stage, which is a step behind us. The information we have to provide isn't relative to you quite yet. Check out these threads for people in your same situation:

Good luck on your journey!! Stay strong through all the waiting.

Thank you so much!!!!!

this has got to be one of the longest and stressful processes ever!

GUYS, I have a dilemma here

I petitioned for my Father and my biological mother to come to USA. Now, my father has two wives but he is not intending to bring the second wife to the US. My questions are as follows

1) Can my father still get a VISA (IR5 currently in progress)?

2)  Can my mother still get a VISA (IR5 case is complete and waiting on my father case to be completed before it can be scheduled for interview)?

3) I could not mention on the DS260 that my father has two wives because there is no option?

Does anybody know or have experience or immigration knowledge as to what is going to happen here.

I preparing myself for the worst case scenario.

NOTE AGAIN: My father has no intention of bring his other wife to the US. Also, he has obtained a NO OBJECTION CERTIFICATE showing that the first wife has no object of him to live in the US and that she will not immigrate to the USA

Thanks VJ friends

You have to call NVC and ask.

My scan date is 11/29/16.

If you wait long enough you will eventually get an email. However if you call them they would be able to tell you sooner.

You said your scan date was 11/28 but you sent in your papers 12/01? Your scan date would be the date THEY received/filed your papers. So your scan date would be sometime after 12/01. Call and ask them. If it's been 6 weeks from your scan date you can ask to be put on "supervisor review", though I don't know if that really does anything.

I am not sure but you may want to post this question in the *IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures* page as it's own topic with a subject such as *Petition for father with two wives* or something similar.  Also, it might be worthwhile to consult with an immigration attorney.

I-130 (for parents of US Citizens):

8/19/2022: NOA (IOE0917XXXXXX); Texas Service Center

7/22/2023: Both (parents) petitions approved

7/27/2023: Both cases sent to NVC

8/8/2023: Received NVC welcome email for both parents
