We can do this, everyone!! I'm actually looking forward to working a full week without a day off, because it also means NVC has a full week to catch up! I never thought I would feel down about the holidays, but every day they are closed is another day they get pushed back. I just hope the people at NVC have enjoyed the time with their families, feel well-rested, and are ready to slam out some CC's!!! Positive vibes, VJ family!

Hello everyone,

I am new to this site. I am principal applicant and my husband is US citizen.

All your posts are very encouraging! Hopefully we all get Case completed soon.

Before reading this post, I had no idea that NVC was taking that much time to review the docs.

@afortunada

I am still waiting for CC, but my consulate is also ciudad juarez in Mexico, same as you. How did you get expedite approval from the consulate??

Welcome! I have a severe medical condition and my health has declined greatly over the last 14 months since I have been apart from my husband. My doctor was/is concerned and wrote a letter stating my condition along with test results and why I need my husband here in the US with me. I then sent all the supporting documents to my senator's office and they sent the expedite request on my behalf. It seems that the only difference it made, though, is that I should be able to schedule an interview date with the consulate directly instead of waiting for the NVC to assign me one.

Scan date for our additional documents was November 28th, 6 weeks today but the person today said I had to wait until tomorrow for Supervisor review. Still waiting. Except a couple weeks more :( (Disappointing since we sent in a single page document and have had to wait now an extra 6 weeks, they wouldn't let us take it to the Embassy).

My documents were scanned Nov 3. December 16 I was placed on a supervisor list. I called today and was informed that I have to give the supervisor 6 weeks to look over documents. If I do not get a response check back after the 6 weeks. So frustrating. Its been almost 10weeks and still nothing.

You can try calling and asking to speak with a supervisor. Though often times I get the "Okay let me put you on hold", and then 1 minute later they say "Sorry a supervisor isn't available, try again later".

My scan date is Dec 21st, so I have only waited for like two weeks. But seeing that so many people have been waiting since early Nov is scary! At least now I know what to expect from NVC.. Are there actually people who got their case completed within 6 weeks? seems like everyone here has been waiting for more than 6 weeks...

I have not seen anyone get a appointment in 6 weeks either. Most I have read have been 10 weeks or longer. Its very frustrating.

I think I've seen maybe one person on these forums since September get finished in 6 weeks.

I waited 8 weeks the first go around for them to tell us that we needed to send my wife's "Long form birth certificate" in. I asked if she could take it to the embassy and they said no. The only information on the "long" that the "short" doesn't have is parent's names and occupations (they are both retired so occupations are pointless now).

So we're now on another 6 weeks (today) for waiting for them to look at one extra page, and technically really only look at 6 words (2 full names). I've read 3 books in this time. Quite sad.

The only people who had received a response within 6 weeks were either doing electronic filing or were from Canada. Besides that... The standard is 8-12 weeks right now.

@chel0524 Any news yet on your case?

Does anyone else have anything positive to report? It's depressing that no one has reported a CC today :(
