Hi all,

I appreciate this is the UK General Discussion forum, but as I'm in the UK and currently going through the immigration visa process, I was hoping people with personal experience could clarify something for me. (If this is best directed in another forum, please advise which one :) )

I have recently received what I believe is "Packet 3" (enclosed are the DS-230, OF-169 and other information regarding the medical and vaccinations, etc) as a result of my wife's petition approval, however I am a little confused with what I'm supposed to be sending back.

I have read on the usaembassy.org website to send the form DS-2001 which is a checklist and application readiness form, however Packet 3 has no mention of this form at all. However, the OF-169 appears to be a similar form in this regard anyway.

Should I just send the OF-169 back, and ignore the need to send the DS-2001? Also, the OF-169 has a field that says "Date of Medical Examination", yet I have also read not to schedule this until we know when the interview date will be, should I leave this field blank, or schedule an appointment first?

Any clarification would really be appreciated on this.

Many thanks!

Jonathan

There is more than one check list and they have different numbers. I confused myself by looking on the Embassy web site and the one I actually received was different.

There should have been printed instructions in the packet you received follow those. I schedule the medical straight away and had it before I had received the interview date. Just phone and arrange it then you can include it on the check list. That way the Embassy can at least see it has been arranged. They have after all given you the details on how to arrange it and I guess expect you to just get on with it.
