We bought a gorgeous ginger oriental dressing from Aldi the other week. Ended up going back and buying about another 4 bottles! Aldi tends to only have stuff for a little while...once it's gone it is gone!

yeah I tend to buy several bottles of my favorites...like this sweet chili sauce. It is yummy...but I buy 4 at a time in case they stop selling it.

The asian dressing me like is: Good Seasons Asian Sesame with Ginger....so if you can't find your stuff at Aldi try this!

So's your comment about "violence" - 'cause we're super peaceful over here?!?!

In Britain, probably about 50% of my friends at some point have been mugged, probably 30% have been robbed. Go out on a Friday night and guaranteed you will see a fight. On numerous occasions I've had people in pubs try to pick a fight with me (probably because I'm a big guy). I would see an all out pub brawl approximately every month or so. When I was younger and went to night clubs, out and out brawls involving more than 5 people was an every Friday night occurance.

I've lived in the USA 8 years, and my every day experience of violence has been practically nothing. I've seen one pub brawl and a a couple of light fistycuffs. Noboby I know has ever been mugged. 1 person I know has experience a break in at their house.

I think everyone in the UK has a expectation that the USA is a dangerous place. In reality I think its the other way around.

Of course my experiences are of living in safe neighbourhoods in the USA. Then again, I did in the UK as well.

I wholeheartedly agree; I've found the UK to be more violent than the US. In the US I never knew anyone who was beaten badly enough to be put in the hospital; here in the UK I know several. I was never a victim of crime myself until I came here, and in six years my house has been broken into and my car has been vandalized several times.

I'll be glad to get away from those junior Vicky Pollards too, lemme tell you.

I'm another one who doesn't miss the crime either but I did move from London to the sticks. We don't lock our house or our car. I don't lock my bike when I leave it at work or go shopping. I leave skis outside work in winter too. Crime is near on zilch. I was a bit freaked by it at first, but now I love it.

I'm a Marmite lover though it lasts so long there is no fear of ever running out. I was home a few weeks back and picked up a Guinness Marmite. It's yummy too.

We live 200 miles from London in a city with under 200,000 people; murder is rare here but assault is very common and property crime in the UK seems to be higher than it is in the US. It's definitely high around here.

Of course in Dallas you can't leave your doors unlocked or leave valuables lying around if you ever want to see them again...and the murder rate is atrocious...but I felt safer there. Weird, eh?

Salad Cream and Marmite a reason to leave the UK? That's a little over the top isn't it? You know you don't have to buy them right? I personally hate Marmite as well, but I exercised my right to simply not purchase or eat it. If food were a reason to leave a country I would have left the USA years ago.
