I just got back from an InfoPass appointment at our local office this morning.

The officer said our case was NOT at their office! He said it would only come to their office if an interview was needed, and that they would send a letter if that was the case. I tried to ask about the "received at local office" message, and he just said they may or may not have moved it to some other office, but it wasn't at theirs. He couldn't provide any more information than this.

My husband had his picture and fingerprints taken (basically biometrics again) and we got the stamp for one year in his passport, so that is at least some relief... back to waiting!

Well here is the thing that isn't ringing right to me. So they said it goes to an office if an interview is needed?  How come two cases were transferred to the local office at weekend (supposedly) and they were approved with no interview? It just doesnt make sense. It seems they make it up as they go along and another question we need to ask is why cant they see where it is?  Surely if it was transferred to "another office" all they have to do is put in the A number to track the file?  USCIS got to love them, right!! :)

Removal of Conditions..  TICK TOCK, TICK TOCK

Time to reset the tick tock clock again.   Roll my eyes.

Yes, I did see that someone got approved, one of the April 2017 filers!!... USCIS is only consistent in their inconsistency. But I think that was from the VSC -- maybe they are further along and it was coincidence.

It seems like the USCIS officers can only read back what the screen tells them, and that doesn't say much. If their database is messed up, they don't actually know anything! Based on the other threads, this is all a big glitch that got our hopes up.

I'm not expecting anything anytime soon from the CSC... it seems like they will be forever backlogged. Maybe we will hear something by mid-summer....

Well someone has just come onto the Feb thread and said that a tier 2 officer told them their case was transferred. I think they are an August CSC filer, so the plot thickens.

Guys I'm January 2017 Filer too. Just want to share my case with you for those who got their case transferred. I called USCIS number to check  on my case and I was transferred to Tier 2 officer. He was very helpful but hanged up on me lool. He told me "Let me explain how thing work for USCIS (Case Processing and Status Update). He said Cases will stay at the original office (Filing address CSC in my case) and that office have two options to request evidence or to transfer your case to two offices (NBC or Local office) NBC for approval and sending 10 years green card or to the local office for interview. and then  asked me anything else i said thank you and hanged up on me lool.

I hope this is not the situation for the people who got their case transferred, and good luck for everyone here because we've been waiting  long enough.

Btw he told me that applicants can call every month to check where is their case based on the information provided to have a hint on the next case update.

My wife and I went to Infopass appointment on March 2 at our local field office in San Jose, CA.

Everything went smooth.

Officer was so nice and accommodating.

Officer asked for Expired Green card and extension letter.

Then, officer stamped I-551 extension for one year on the passport.

Officer even returned the expired green card to back to us.

Officer even encouraged us to apply for Citizenship right away and said by the time our 1-751 is approved, we would have finished processing all paperworks/biometrics for citizenship.
