Thanks for the answer Hmmmm now it makes it more interesting. Well, we shall see what's going on at the USCIS. All of a sudden this surge of files transfer is pretty confusing. We will see how things will unfold.

Hi All,

 

I have an upcoming InfoPass appoint to extend my wife's I-551. However, we need to renew her passport soon, so we were hoping to have her I-551 in card form rather than in her passport. To get the I-551 in card form I understand that we only need to bring 2 passport photos with us to our appointment. Is that right or is there something more we need to bring?

Local office is the same place as where you'd go for an infopass, right? Hope this speeds things up...

I guess its not a glitch. People have been calling their tier 2 and they are saying that it is true. Also those who got a response for their I-751 application like "card being Produced" or whatever when they are trying to put their other WAC# its giving them the error like the old days. So that means their files weren't transferred because they are done.

But: A decision cannot be made yet about my application. The reason is my pending I-751 file!

My receipt number from extension letter yesterday was not recognize, but when I checked this morning, it was saying my application i-751 was transferred to local office.

I guess VSC and CSC are overwhelmed with many applications that's why they moved the application to the local office, which i believed will also affect and it will slow down the process of N-400.

Yah I guess it will. Lets see what the future is hiding for us.

They should have transferred these files long-ago if they knew this back log was so big for them to handle. They pretty much wasted a solid year for everyone.

 

I went to the InfoPass and got the extension stamp, and they said they can only make it valid for 6 months (Chicago Field Office). Due to that her Drivers License is also has 6 month validity - and if before July I don't get the card I have to fork out more money.

I just got a call back from a tier 2 officer. She actually confused me more. She said that she cant see that my case was received at the local office, although, my case has been updated as of yesterday that they received it at the local office. She also mentioned that the case is still at CSC and it could be just some internal movement and shouldn't even concern me. I should just continue checking the second receipt number (on biometrics) instead of the first one..

That's weird. I don't really understand why we have two receipt numbers in the first place. I checked the first one (from the NOA) and it was moved to the local office. This number has always been "invalid" when looking up case status before.

 

The second one (from biometrics) of course has the same old message about receiving the petition in January - no change.

 

Another thing is I couldn't update our address with the second receipt number (said it's invalid), only the first one. Why do they make things so confusing.

HI everyone, I've been following your stories for a while now and I appreciate all the info that you've been willing to share. I've been eagerly awaiting an update on my ROC as well. Just wanted to let everyone know that I've also received the "Case Recieved at My Local Office" update yesterday. Not sure what it means just yet, but sure hoping it'll speed things up!

Wow! On February 26, 2018 my case was received by my field office (St. Paul).  After seeing all the (apparent) movement of our ROC cases on here I decided to blow the dust off my account and check, lol. Low and behold, St. Paul has my I-751. I am cautiously optimistic that there has been some REAL movement, not just some virtual movement to show that they have been doing something. I am actually feeling a little excited at the prospect of becoming a US citizen before this year is out. Oh Heavenly day to have this journey finally come to an end!!! (Although I will probably lurk here on VJ forever...just sayin' ;)  ).

My case was also transferred to local office on feb 26. 

CSC filer NOA date end of January. 

Not sure if it’s just a bulk update or not. Hopefully it’s not and we hear something soon

January 8th 2014 - NOA1

July 10th 2014 - NOA2

NVC

July 17th 2014 - Case shipped to NVC

July 30th 2014 - Case received by NVC

August 13th 2014 - Case number and IIN received by email

August 13th 2014 - DS-261 Form Completed

August 14th 2014 - AOS Fees Invoiced and Paid

September 17th 2014 - IV Fees Invoiced and Paid

September 19th 2014 - DS260 Completed

October 6th 2014 - AOS and IV Packages Received

November 28th 2014 - AOS and IV Checklist (4 items in total. 3 for documents they lost. Called on December 9 and a rep said no checklist for IV....go figure)

December 8th 2014 - Checklist scan date.

December 30th 2014 - Case Compl........NOT. So after not having an interview date yet, I called again on Jan 30th and apparently its in final review with a supervisor.

February 6th 2015 - Case Complete: Supervisor called from NVC to confirm everything has been completed now.

March 27 2015 - Interview Date

March 27 2015 - Approved!
