I was hoping it would be an approval. Do you guys know if it's safe to apply for N-400 if you receive an RFE?

I also received RFE. I was very disappointed as well. I also sent last month statement as well but apparently it wasn't enough despite all the other evidence I sent. I mailed off response already. Now the wait continues.

Did you send them statements for the entire marriage?

I have 4 different types of accounts if I print statements for all of them I will hurry them in paper.

ahh that is not good at all

RFE should stand for randomly generated evidence requirement.

I had submitted bank statements, for about 3 months, but we did not withdraw or deposit money in it.

It was stagnant with the same account balance each month, we had opened it and only used it during the first few months after which we stopped using it :(

Do you think, that would be a problem, expect a RFE?

regards

Steve

Based on the letter they sent me they wanted to see statements for the entire history of the marriage. So maybe?

We only have one account so I sent them 3years of statement for entire marriage. I also had to send them other evidence that required lots of paper. I felt like I killed 100 trees to provide them with their request. I felt a bit violated to be honest. All our personal information in their hands. I hope it's enough

I included 2-3 recent monthly statements and a letter from the bank that mentioned the history of the account - open date, average monthly balance etc. If you request your bank for such a document, they should be able to provide it. I think it provides USCIS what they are looking for, i.e. the account has been operational during the entire marriage period.

I got the idea from another VJ forum where someone posted about this working for them. I am hoping it still works!

This is completely random. When two people are married, they can have a joint lease, car insurance, health insurance statements, photos which are proof enough that they are married.

You cannot expect a couple to always have a joint bank account even, or have an account and send them history for the entire duration of marriage.

In my case, we have a joint bank account but never used it after the initial few months. We have separate bank accounts which is totally fine.

I am referring this to USCIS, also, I am sure that everyone who got approvals, did not send the entire bank account history for the duration of the marriage. Most of them sent it for only the last 3-4 months, which displays that the marriage is current.

USCIS does this randomly, I think and it is so unfair.

regards

Steve

You don't need to send all of them. Send joint checking account statements for every 2-3 months starting from when you got married, so around 4-5 statements per year is enough. Do the same for credit card statements as well. Don't send the ones which doesn't have any transaction details.

I am sending about 10lbs of additional paerwork. 3-4 years worth of statements of our 2 principal accounts  (one for our direct deposits and non-essential spending, the other our bill paying account) several statements from 2 credit cards showing me as the account owner and my husband as authorized user, 2016 & 2017 tax returns, closing docs and mortgage statements since we purchased a house 4-5 months ago, recent pictures, more utility bills that show new address, a letter from my obgyn about my pregnancy and expected due date.

I am not even sure what additional evidence I would send if i file my n-400 soon.! This is literally everything short of affidavits....

May the odds be ever in our favor!

I totally agree with Gaia12, I only sent the original bank statement for December 2016 and a verification letter from the bank for all our accounts (checking & savings).  The verification letter included the account number,  both of our names since we have joint accounts, type of account, when the account was opened, present deposit in the account and an a monthly average.  I have used this letter when I filed I-129F also and I didn't had any problems.  I used this verification letter for I-751 and we were approved.  In my personal opinion if you include this letter signed with the letterhead of the bank and 3-4 bank statements per year, you should be fine.

I-751 Petition to Remove the Conditions on Residence Removal of lawful permanent resident conditions (spouses of U.S. citizens and lawful permanent residents September 7, 2016

As that update, I think it's getting slower!

Because last update was : Aug 20, 2016 "as of October 31, 2017"

The new one was : Sep 7, 2016 "as November 30, 2017"

That means that they do like 15-18 days per one month! Which means "if they still at the same that processing time" they will work on Jan 2017 cases after about 8 months from now!!
