On really? I read somewhere that the CRI was an outdated form, since it says the fees were waived, but we obviously still had to pay a fee. So I thought it's receipt number wasn't the one to use for tracking.

Can anyone else confirm that the CRI receipt number is the one I should be looking at?

Yes, you should be using the CRI89 number to get the information for your application.  Is the second number on the application/petition/request number box on the biometric appointment letter.

The wife called to try and get a Tier 2 person to verify the address on file for her case, since I used the not-CRI-89 number to fill out the online form. Over a 3 hour wait now... Just wanted to check and make sure the address on file is our new one, even though I got a confirmation email that our address has been changed in the database using the non-CRI-89 number.

That was back in May, 2017 when we moved and we haven't heard anything since from them. We're just a little paranoid that it didn't get changed and they sent something out to the old address between then and now and they've been waiting for a response all this time. The only thing I can imagine them sending us is an RFE, but we provided a boatload of documents in the initial filing.

Even if the receipt number was an invalid one, could they find her through other means like name or A-Number? Or is the non-CRI-89 number tied to the CRI-89 one in their systems?

You should have received a letter at your new address; that's what we got when we changed addresses. In fact, two letters - one stating it was updated in their system, and another stating that they have sent our information to the relevant office (CSC) to update our file.

I am traveling next Monday, I am planning to go to the local office today, to get the I-551 stamp.

They will have to give me the stamp correct?

One year extension expires on 4.27.2018.

regards

Steve.

Well, someone posted that they were turned down and told to wait until March. My officer said to come back in January 2018. I guess it depends on who you talk to. State your concerns about the date on the letter, the delayed approvals, and that you are traveling, and please let us know what they say!

Infopass I551 stamps will be place on the passport only if the expirations is three weeks. If you book an appointment a month in advacne, they will send you back. They have a two week / 14-day policy.

Depends on the Field Office and on the IO. I went to Minneapolis in November when my letter expires in April. I explained the three and a half hour drive and my difficulty getting time off for that drive during the week. I had no issues. I think it depends on the IO's view of your circumstances.

I’m really worried because they have approving people that applied on February 2017 and they haven’t finished with early January 2017 filers yet.  I don’t understand how they are working.

I have the same question. I saw applicants filed in late February received approval (happy for them), whereas some applicants filed in September 2016 are still waiting. I hope they just forgot to update their status after approvals.

I guess I will have to be a little more patient....

Tcgator,

Regarding your question, I believe you won’t receive a NOA letting you know that they received the material you submitted for your RFE.  I received an RFE for my I-129 F application like 3 years ago and I never received a NOA at that time so im assuming that the system hasn’t changed.  Can you please share with us what information did they requested on your RFE.  I received my NOA on January 12, 2017 and I haven’t heard anything about my case.  I’m really worried because they have approving people that applied on February 2017 and they haven’t finished with early January 2017 filers yet.  I don’t understand how they are working.  I’m planing to travel on the first week of February and this wait is killing us.  Thanks for sharing your experience!!

Hi Maite & Osmar,

We actually got our approval letter yesterday after I wrote this!  In the RFE, they asked for our taxes, affidavits from people we know, official documents showing the spouse as the beneficiary and any joint bills.  In my original application I did not include any of our taxes, which was totally my fault.  I hadn't completed 2016 taxes yet and just thought I was submitting enough other evidence that I didn't need to include previous years either.  So in my RFE submittal I gave them 3 years of taxes, our current lease, documents from our jobs showing the other as the beneficiary and two affidavits (along with some other random documents/bills showing both of our names).

I also checked our online case status yesterday and it still only showed the fee waiver message and didn't even say anything about the RFE.  I think if you are a VSC filer then hopefully you will hear something in the next few days/weeks.  Oh, one last thing, on the case status, it said if I hadn't received anything by February 9th to contact them.  So you can check your online status and if you don't hear anything in the next few weeks, then you can definitely inquire and hopefully get an answer quickly!  Hang in there and I hope you hear something soon!

Hi tcgator,

I’m very happy to hear that you received your approval letter.  Thanks a lot for sharing your RFE with us.  I believe, we submitted enough evidence but with immigration you never know.  I went to my Congress man office today and it looks like that they haven’t touch our case yet.  I guess we will have to wait a little bit more. Please let us know when you receive your Green card.  Thanks & Congratulations!!

Thats not the update, each month near the beginning it gives the date and you think its updated but it nothing changes,  probably doing maintenance work or such. Last month they didn't update until the very end of the month. I suspect they will update the processing times in the next few days or the next week.
