Hello, everyone!

It's been a year since we submitted the I-751 packet. My green card expired in April last year. Should I look into getting an info pass appointment soon, or do I wait until March to do so? Advice, please, anyone? Thank you!

We are all in the same boat, at least with the CSC. I think you only need an InfoPass appointment to get the I-551 stamp if you need to travel, renew your driver's license, change jobs, or do anything else that requires proof of legal status. It can take a while to get an appointment (depending on where you live), so you might want to start looking now if you think you'll need it.

Thanks for the clarification! My dilemma was whether to try and get an appointment now or wait 'til March-ish (before the extension letter expires). I might change jobs soon, so I guess I need to prioritize that. Thanks again!

1. Theoretically you should be good, but you may run into problems with people who misread the date or misunderstand the extension letter.

2. That is correct, but again, mistakes/misunderstandings happen regarding the letter.

3. If you want to be absolutely safe, get the I-551 stamp before you go so there is no question of the legal status.

I agree

Infopass I551 stamps will be place on the passport only if the expirations is three weeks. If you book an appointment a month in advacne, they will send you back. They have a two week / 14-day policy.

Hi all,

Does anyone know - If you get an RFE, do they mail you a notice/NOA that they received your RFE materials?  We received an RFE on 12/18/17 and I mailed out the additional evidence on 12/26/17 and they received it the next day via fed ex.  Since then I haven't heard anything.  Should I have received a notice that they received it?  Am i just being overly anxious and expecting a miracle?  I know there were some holidays in there so they are extra slow, but seems like we should hear something back any minute now right?  Ugh, so much waiting!!

Tcgator,

Regarding your question, I believe you won’t receive a NOA letting you know that they received the material you submitted for your RFE.  I received an RFE for my I-129 F application like 3 years ago and I never received a NOA at that time so im assuming that the system hasn’t changed.  Can you please share with us what information did they requested on your RFE.  I received my NOA on January 12, 2017 and I haven’t heard anything about my case.  I’m really worried because they have approving people that applied on February 2017 and they haven’t finished with early January 2017 filers yet.  I don’t understand how they are working.  I’m planing to travel on the first week of February and this wait is killing us.  Thanks for sharing your experience!!

This is exactly what's frustrating my wife and I too. We're seeing people that filed late January (same time as us +/- a day) and got their NOAs after us getting approved and the online system still says that our EAC number cannot be found.

Are you using the receipt number on your biometrics notice (i.e. not the one from the NOA1)? Or are you saying neither of them work?

I am traveling next Monday, I am planning to go to the local office today, to get the I-551 stamp.

They will have to give me the stamp correct?

One year extension expires on 4.27.2018.

Steve.

Yep. There were two of them on the biometrics notice in a box to the top right, both EAC and separated by a /. One leads to the CRI-89 form. I can only assume the other one is what I should be using to track the case itself. I've used it to file an online change of address and got a confirmation of record update email reply back, so it seems like that's the one I should be using.

The biometrics form I'm talking about is the one that the agent stamped and signed when my wife went in for the appointment.

The CRI-89 is the correct one to track your status online. It doesn't appear to update for everyone, though – have seen a bunch of people post that they received approval without their cases ever updating there.

On really? I read somewhere that the CRI was an outdated form, since it says the fees were waived, but we obviously still had to pay a fee. So I thought it's receipt number wasn't the one to use for tracking.

Can anyone else confirm that the CRI receipt number is the one I should be looking at?
