Both of us have jobs, so as far as financial responsibility goes, we can take care of ourselves independently.

There are two address change forms. The one is AR-11 sent by the immigrant spouse and I-865 needs to be mailed by U.S citizen spouse if she/he was the sponsor. See the link below:

card is being produced yay says 4th jan but got message today and status changed just now

 

undecided if i should get ready to apply for n400 or wait for things to calm down a bit. pretty hectic next couple months ahead could do with a break from this process

dont see the edit option since i posted last dont want to double post but status changed again to mailed out today. Also on a potentially unrelated note i got a piece of unscanned undelivered mail in my informed delivery today.

Greetings All- 

We received the 10-year Green Card today! 

Although approval (VSC) happened on 12/21/17, and we received the NOA in the mail on 1/2/18, the website never updated until today (1/8/18) when it went straight to "my card was mailed," and lo and behold it was in the mailbox on the same day!

Just received my husband's approval in the mail!  Here are our details:

 

(VSC)

01/11/17:  Sent I-751

01/23/17:  NOA

03/15/17:  Biometrics 

12/28/17:  Approval

Update: i called the number and got a call back from a T2 and she gave me the tracking number

So, if I fill only AR-11 and not the I 865 form, I will not get the mail to my new address on AR-11?

Filling both forms is mandatory for change of address?

The I-865 is for US sponsors of the immigrating person.  If a person immigrated to the US on spousal or fiancee visa, the US person would need to sponsor, promise to repay the government any 'benefits' the person claimed.  This is technically a requirement, but if situation arose and the USCIS wanted to enforce seeking damages, they would be able to find you anyway.  As the US sponsor, I filled it out to remain compliant.  The ROC should not be based on the sponsor's address, though - it should be based on the address on the I-751 and address on file (updated by the AR-11).

 

Short answer: Yes.  Long answer: Not really.

 

I doubt divorced US sponsors are eager to file their updated address and that outdated addresses are abundant.
