Hi Everyone,

 

I just moved recently to another state for my job. I am a CSC applicant. I went to the USCIS website just now and successfully updated my mailing address filling the AR 11 form.

Question is: Will my move affect the result of my application? Meaning, will they think ohh, this guy moved to another state, lets ask him for additional documentation?

Hi Steve! 

 

I moved to a different state in the middle of my process and it didn't change a thing.

Disclaimer, both DC and Maryland are serviced by Vermont; not sure if it woud've been different if that was not the case. I'd guess no?

Thanks for your reply xvx, I moved from California to Texas, they fall under the same processing center, CSC.

i moved from nc to tn which puts me under CSC instead of VSC but i got approved with TN field office address on the letter, no interview. NVC agents told me it was still in VSC when i called in November but address change letter got forwarded to CSC. I wasnt asked for an RFE

One another thing that would be helpful to you. If your wife was your sponsor she needs to file I-865 sponsor's change of address form. Your move won't change anything, your priority date remains the same.

1/27 filer here for my wife.

 

I see that a lot of people that have volunteered their dates for the tracker have already gotten their approvals. Congrats to you all! My question is about checking the status of our case.

 

Is it the Receipt Number that's on top of the extension letter? The one that starts with EAC. If so, is it normal for the online status checker to say that it can't find that number, or were others able to add it to their account right away? Since I see that the Vermont processing time website says they are still in November, does the error message simply mean that they haven't started looking at my wife's stuff yet?

 

We moved once in the middle and I was able to successfully update our address with the EAC number as a reference, so it seems like they do know it exists on their end.

You are using the wrong number. Try the number on biometrics letter, it is on the top right. The tracking will not give you any latest update on your case until it is approved or a card is issued. You have mentioned you moved during the process. I assume you filed AR-11 online, did you file I-865 sponsors change of address form? Presumably, if you or either your spouse is U.S citizen and moved needs to file I-865 form. If your U.S citizen spouse filed the I-864 form.

I had a "dur" moment and searched the forums for my question and found the same answer. However, my form has two numbers in the top right of the biometrics letter. One matches up with the CRI89. The other is the EAC number I've been trying to use all this time. I figured that it wouldn't change until they actually looked at the case. The wife is just getting anxious after seeing the people that filed near 1/27/17 getting their approvals and the online tracker giving us this "error". 

 

Yep, AR-11 is the one I filed for my wife and I got a confirmation that it was received and the address updated. Thanks for telling me about I-865. I will fill that out immediately. I didn't see anything that mentioned I needed to fill that form out myself. It would have been nice if AR-11 had a blurb after submitting it to go fill out I-865 too...

You will hear from USCIS within a month or few weeks since you are a VSC applicant. The standard VSC processing is 11 to 12 months, whereas CSC is taking more than 16 months to approve applicants these days.

Hi,

 

My wife is a US citizen, I filed so I am the applicant, what do you mean by sponsor ?

Will my wife be my sponsor in this case?

I have not heard of I-865 form.

Both of us have jobs, so as far as financial responsibility goes, we can take care of ourselves independently.
