It is not easy to get an infopass appointment. Try checking at midnight or early morning, many people find a slot during those times. You are eligible to file N-400 regardless of your pending I-751 if you are a permanent resident for 2 years and 9 months with the fulfillment of the other criteria.  They mostly will adjudicate both of your applications simultaneously. 

 

Thanks! To get the i-551 stamp, do you have to go to a local field office? 

 

LA's is always full, but I was wondering if it was worth making an appointment in nevada or utah (where they have them), and flying out to go get the stamp. Would that be allowed or not?

My husband and I tried to get a passport stamp a couple months ago, and they refused to stamp it because it was too early. I know some people have had success getting stamps, though.

 

We pressed and questioned the officer extensively, but he just said that the stamp is only necessary if you plan on traveling or getting a new job (and need to prove status), otherwise they are aware of the backlog and your status - it's in their system. He told us to not come back until a few weeks before the letter expires (and again emphasized it's really only necessary if we're traveling).

 

The extension letter is good until your green card expires, so all January filers should still be fine for at least a few more months. Hopefully they make some progress in the meantime. What a frustrating experience!

Any idea on how to renew your driver's license without the stamp? (since it will expire at the same time as the Green Card)

Ours expires in less than 30 days now, so I think we can get the stamp.

 

I'm still looking for an answer to if you have to use the local office, or if I can go out of state.

 

The language on the infopass site says the office "serves" certain zip codes, so I wonder if I travel to one, they would reject seeing us.

Happy New Year, Everyone! We had great news in the mail today! Removal of Conditions approved on 12/21/17! (We filed 1/14/17 at Vermont Service Center.) We received an I-797 Notice of Action stating the new card will arrive within 60 days. Next stop N-400! Hoping this brings good fortune and speedy processing now to anyone else waiting!

It looks like VSC statistics was not correctly updated. It should be 36 applicants instead of 35, and 12 approved instead of 11, so 33.3%.

 

I've updated it as. Also changed the color of the fonts for DAVESINGS.

My approval letter was dated 12/13/2017, rec'd 12/18/2017, card rec'd 12/28/2017. Online status changed the day after I rec'd the approval letter (12/19/2017 status changed to We Ordered Your New Card). Status changed again 12/22/2017 to show Card Was Mailed To Me.
