I-751 Petition to Remove the Conditions on Residence Removal of lawful permanent resident conditions (spouses of U.S. citizens and lawful permanent residents

August 20, 2016

When do you guys think we should expect an answer ? Like during March ? or end of February ?

Im asking for CSC

From what I've seen, it hasn't been updated since October 31, 2017. Where did you see December 26?

CSC looks to be at least 3 months behind VSC, so unless they speed up, we probably won't hear anything until March.

Hello All,

I just joined the site to see if you can help me with my process.

I filled in January 2017, got my biometrics done on February 2017, and nothing since (like pretty much all of you). I filled in CSC.

I've been using this site to check the processing progress -> https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/processingTimesDisplay.do but it stopped working for me a month ago. Does anyone know where to check it now?

Also, since we are getting so close to the date, I've been trying to get an InfoPass appointment to get my passport stamped, but I've been trying for a week and I have yet to see any availability (I've been looking for the two USCIS centers that I have in a 50 miles radio). Is this normal? Is there any workaround for it?

In the meantime, I've been prepping my N-400 package, that I will be sending early next week after the holidays. Is it advisable to send this before getting contingencies removed?

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide on my journey.

Best,

-Nicolas

Check out this website for USCIS processing timeline https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/processTimesDisplayInit.do

It is not easy to get an infopass appointment. Try checking at midnight or early morning, many people find a slot during those times. You are eligible to file N-400 regardless of your pending I-751 if you are a permanent resident for 2 years and 9 months with the fulfillment of the other criteria.  They mostly will adjudicate both of your applications simultaneously.

Thanks for sharing that information. That website works like a charm.

I'll keep trying with InfoPass and expedite on the N-400 as much as I can.

Its been a long time since I posted anything on here.

I have been seeing VSC applicants from Jan 2017 get approved which is great, Congratulations to everyone approved so far.

CSC processing date is Aug 20th 2016 as of today, that means for all of us CSC applicants who filed in Jan 2017, we are looking at May-June 2018, by the time we get approvals.

All of our green cards expire around April 2018.

Question is what are we supposed to do between April 2018 till the time our green card is approved? Get some stamp saying we are waiting on the approval?

When all of us applied right at the beginning, Jan 2017, it was considered lucky if you were a CSC filer because CSC was 4-5 months ahead of VSC and not look it is the exact opposite, both centers should ideally be run at the same pace. This is extremely frustrating.

They sent over some cases from VSC to CSC... it may be slow now.. but who knows... maybe in January it will be much faster.... I’m thinking March 2018 would be the earliest... they probably don’t want all the people to go get the stamp... so they will try to process them before the deadline. Let’s see what the update says after August 20th, hopefully it says October !!!

Do you mean from CSC to VSC

Its already behind in CSC, why they would send more application from VSC to CSC.

Happy New Year! We've decided to start working on the n400 for my husband since the wait for the i751 has been so long. We aren't sure what to fill out on a couple parts:

Part 9: Time Outside The United States

1: How many total days (24 hours or longer) did you spend outside the United States during the last 5 years?

2: How many trips of 24 hours or longer have you taken outside the United States during the last 5 years?

3: List all the trips of 24 hours or longer that you have taken outside of the United States during the last 5 years.

Well, we have only been in this country since 2015, but I'm not sure if living outside of the US counts as "taking a trip" outside the US. We did leave the US for 3 weeks in 2015 to go see his family in Iran, so obviously we'll count that. But do we count the time we didn't even live here?

Thanks for the help and hopefully all the GCs will be approved soon!

I also have another question: what can we do when we reach the expiration on his 1-year extension letter? If he won't get his GC until June, that means he'll have a few months of a gap.

Thank you!

Just count all the trips you took since your husband moved to the US in 2015.

Although I am quite sure your husband will get his green card before the extension letter expires, if that doesn’t happen, you can schedule an info pass appointment with your local USCIS office, to get a temporary I-551 stamp.
