Hello guys

I newly got hired at a furniture store and my I9 did not go through. ( brought in expired green card + extension letter+ drivers license + social sec.card) Although the company human resources lady was helping me a lot . we still waiting for some news from higher HR what to do. In meantime I set up an infopass at my local office, for a I 751 extension stamp( 31st of OCT). Do you think it will be enough evidence now? I filed for my I 751 in this January, got an extension letter in February, and also went for a biometeic appointment in 02/2017. Thanks for any answer. Patiently waiting , good day guys

Just the Drivers License and the social security card should have been okay. They do not need to see your green card.. Please try again with your DL and Social and hopefully it will work out because legally, you only have 3 days to provide your I9 documentation upon starting your new job and waiting until Oct 31st could jeopardize that. Good luck and please keep us posted.

@VeraBradley thank you, she did that way too. They tired two times and we can wait until November 15th she said. Then we try for the third time probably just with is and social security card. They said I am not the only one had this issue, and therefore they saw my extension letter they were fine with it.

I attended my Infopass appointment this afternoon in Minneapolis/Saint Paul. We arrived early and got through security in a breeze. We didn't bring our phones, but everyone there had theirs..oh well. My appointment was for 2:15 PM but we were out of there by then.

I checked in at the front desk, told the guy why I needed to see an IO. He checked me in, printed off a number which he stapled to my appointment letter, and told me to have a seat and wait for my number to be called. Maybe 15 minutes later I was called to a window. The IO was very pleasant. I explained that I needed a stamp for my passport because my job is going into a busy season, and the processing times for I-751 have slowed to the point where I am sure my extension letter will expire (Jan 20, 2018) before my case is reviewed. She said that she would definitely help me, and acknowledged that it is very difficult to get an infopass appointment at that office.

She took my green card, passport, and extension letter and was gone for about 10 minutes. She came back and gave me back the extension letter and passport. She explained the stamp to me and said that it is good for one year from today. She said that she would have to keep the green card.

That was it. I am good now until October 24, 2018. I definitely will have filed N400 by then. Glad I didn't wait until the last minute to take care of this!

Hi everyone,

I have filed on January 24 th 2017. Did any one receive his 10 years GC?

How to check on my case status?

I'm not sure if anyone has ,Im a Feb filer.  You use the number on your bio-metrics number, starts with E or W and put it to case status, you can also sign up so you can check in more depth about your case. However, it normally never changes status until a card is issue, it doesnt even tell you if an interview has been scheduled. For some reason USCIS don't feel the need to up date their systems if they did then plenty of people wouldn't get a denial when they dont receive the interview or RFE letter.

Removal of Conditions..  TICK TOCK, TICK TOCK

Time to reset the tick tock clock again.   Roll my eyes.

Hi Duali,

How will I get a stamp on my passport if it is already expired ? Will they give me another letter that extends my residency for another one year ?

you will need to make an info pass and get a stamp in your passport if the passport has not expired.  You probably need to check after midnight to get one. If your passport it expired you will need to take two passport size photos so they can put the stamp on a card.  And no they don't send you another letter.

Well, I was finally able to get an infopass appointment in St. Paul for October 24. I am also seeing here that they can deny a stamp for being too soon before expiry of the extension letter (January 20). I hope they can see my reasoning. I work asset protection in retail, and it is coming into our very busy holiday season. I am seeing that CSC is working on July applications and chances are good that I will need the stamp anyway.  I am trying to be proactive here because I also have an aunt in Canada who is terminal and I may have to travel back there as well. The holiday season also backs things up at USCIS as well, and I don't want to wait until the last minute to have to drive three hours to Minneapolis in a snowstorm for a stamp in my passport.

So here goes, I'll let you all know how it goes..

Hi Malak1, sorry I have been at work. Everything shell20 said is correct. I decided to get my stamp early because I live so far away from the Field Office, and my job requires a lot of my time from now until end of January. My passport is not expired.  Just follow shell20's instruction and you will be fine. Good luck! :)
