haha, read this one another visajourney filers forum.

1.5-2 years to get your 10 year green card is a very long wait indeed.

So disappointed, my first GC took 9 months, and was a way more complex process. Now something more simple like the ROC will probably take twice as long.

Mine took only 6 months for my AOS, this ROC process give me a lot of anxiety and inconvenience, specially when traveling internationally, that I have to do secondary security check just to get in. Also for those applying for new jobs, most of the employers dont know the meaning of NOA1 (Extension letter) Imagine all of these things, is really pain in the a**.

Yeah, I am traveling internationally in December. When I applied I was so happy seeing like people from Jan-Feb 2016 getting approved in 6 months, and now this, 14-16 months to get approved. It p*sses me off because we pay to get this done. If it was a free process I would understand the delay, but cmon we all pay big money for this and things only get worse every month

Hi Maite&Osmar - I am about to submit my application soon as well. I filled out the latest version (dated 12/23/16) of I-751. Yes, the name field under part 7 and part 8 are not editable. However, they should get populated automatically from info entered on earlier pages. Specifically, the petitioner's name in part 7 will automatically get populated from name entered in part 1 and similarly for US Citizen spouse, name in part 8 should get populated from name entered in part 4. That's how it appeared for me. Have you filled out parts 1 and 4?

Hello Gaia -

I am wondering how Part 7 & 8 boxes were populated on your I-751 Form.

We are in the process of filling out the form and though Part 7 & 8 are automatically populated, only initials and last names are being transferred from Part 1 & 4.

For example, if we put John Miller Doe and Amy Alex Doe on Part 1 & 4, the Part 7 & 8 boxes are automatically filled out like these:

I, J.M. Doe, understand that the purpose of USCIS ASC appointment is for me..."

I, A.A. Doe, understand that the purpose of USCIS ASC appointment is for me..."

Your response is greatly appreciated.

Hi Gaia12,

I already filled out all the application and I didn't have any problems with part 7.  My husband name appeared automatically from part 1 to part 7 as you clearly stated it.  I also entered all my information (I'm the spouse and US Citizen) on part 4 but my name didn't appeared automatically on part 8 and that's the reason why I'm a little bit concerned. In my application the box on part 8 is in blank and won't let me type anything.  Is anybody else having the same problem? Thanks a lot Gaia12 for your help at least I know that based on your comment, my name should be showing automatically from part 4.  I just have to find out why that's not the case with my application.

Hi Maite & Osmar,

I  hope you could help us out.

I just got my passport stamped with the I-551. All I had to say was that I'm looking to change jobs and the I-9 verification does not accept the extension letter. The officer was willing to give me a stamp for a year from now, 6 months beyond the date the extension letter is valid for. Unfortunately my passport was expiring in April 2018 and she asked me to come back for a new stamp once I have a new passport.

Is this really an issue if changing jobs? Shouldn't the extension letter be enough (I mean, it's written right there for them)? My husband is going to be looking for a new job very soon and we don't want to have any issues with a new employer.
