No. It was just service request letter from local office.  they mention that my case is in normal processing times. I called USCIS & they told me that my file is in Chicago field office but I got a letter from May 3rd stating about transfer to NBC. If my file is in my field office they should combine my N400 & I751.

I really don't know where my file is currently.

@Rmsh So they basically they conducted your N-400 interview and didn't arrive at a final decision because your I-751 was pending ? Do you remember the name of your IO ? Also , was he a short hispanic gentleman ?

Yes. No final decision has been made bcas of pending I 751. I don't remember the name but he is not the one which you mention. What about you?

@Rmsh  I haven't had my interview yet. I read accounts of a couple other folks ( 3-4) who were even refused a N-400 interview because of their pending I-751.

@Rmsh What does your case status for the I-751 and N-400 say ?

Okay, I filed in Chicago as well and I have both I751 and N400 pending. Somebody in the same position as me just told me that is VERY IMPORTANT that you go with your spouse. Even tough N400 does not require your spouse, it seems that I751 does. So for the people that they decided in both cases is because they went with their spouse. So I guess my advise is, regardless the interview they citing you in, just bring your wife/husband and all docs that proved your marriage is still in place and in good faith.

As as my process goes, my file was transferred on May 3 from California to Summit Lee. Haven't heard anything else since.

Something else: I don't understand why officers would get mad if you apply for N400 on a I751 pending. The rules allow you to do it. Is on their own website, so I don't get why they would get mad about it. That's confusing to me...or did they change that rule (you can apply 90 days before your GC expired)?

I started an inquiry as soon as my transfer to NBC was 61 days.

Today I received an answer that my case is still pending at my local office and I should wait another 120 days.

I remembered you, John. Sorry to hear that, sounds long! They might decide way before that, crossing fingers! Keeps us posted.

This was the answer I received by email today:

Thank you for contacting USCIS concerning the above-referenced application. Below is a summary of what we have found and how the issue has been resolved or additional actions required.

What We Have Done
USCIS has reviewed your Service Request.  According to USCIS records, your application is still pending at the your Field Office.  At this time, we anticipate you should receive a decision or other notice from USCIS within 120 days of this notice.  Please be advised that posted processing times are goals based on Field Office averages.  These goals are subject to change and can vary from office to office.  We apologize for any inconvenience caused by delays in processing.

I only filed the I-751 in October 2016. I started an inquiry after my 60 days expired since my case was transferred to the NBC on May 1st.
Answer I received that my case was still pending at my local office and I should receive an answer in the next 120 days. My letter stated so an interview can be scheduled

I filed the I-751 in January 2017, transferred to Texas March 2018 and RFE in May 2018. Turned in evidence in June 2018.

Now we are just playing the wait game. However, in the mean time we are getting tired of waiting. We are waiting for the adjustment so my husband can apply for citizenship for a different employment opportunity. My question is this far into waiting for the I-751 would applying for citizenship now interfere with our I-751?

Thank you in advance
