Trying to be a January filer but package refused at delivery. How will I know why it was refused? should have pacakage in hand Friday

is there a proper way to package it?

sent USPS priority express (signature not needed)

old version (excepted until 2/17/17)

new fees 595/85

sent to USCIS Vermont Service Center P.O. Box 200 St. Albans, VT 05479-0001

time stamp has delivery at 12:20pm and refused at 12:21pm

I am sorry to hear about the rejection but In the rejection notice they do say the reason they could have rejected your application.

I am just speculating at this point but did you send in the newer version of the form that was updated 12/23/2016?

Hello VJ Family,

I am currently eligible for I-751 filing and the last day to file  is 31st March 2017. However, I am currently in a huge dilemma because I have trip planned to my home country in June for about 3 weeks and worried about the interview call falling in this period. I see that the average max time for the approval is 8 months and that would be in August but I still want to time it so that the interview is either before or after the trip

What would you guys suggest? File it in January or wait until March? If I file in January, I may not have the 2016 Tax statements for the evidence.

Just my 0.02 cents... but the earlier you file the better. Situations could change and you could get busier later in March perhaps. Your NOA1 would let you travel and stay in Status for the year and if there is an interview that falls in the time that you are away you could go through infopass and have it rescheduled.

USCIS understands that life/accidents/health etc.. happens and they do have choices for you if you are not able to make an interview day. You just have to let them know well in advance of your situation.

Hello everyone,

Almost finished preparing hubby's package.  We can file after 1/25/17.  Can't wait until all of this is over.  I have enough anxiety with taking care of my ill parents.  I wish everyone a speedy process.  We unfortunately will be sending our package to VT.  I understand they are taking a really long time.  Oh well.  I'm gonna buckle up and try to enjoy the ride :P

My wife has 2 friends who recently filed ROC and received permanent 10yr green card in 2 and 6 months respectively. Neither were Military ... The first received her GC 3/16/16 with only a 2 month wait (conditional GC didn't even expire before receiving permanent), the second took 6 months (received GC in July 2016) even with RFE letter - neither used a lawyer and both had to file in VT (PA and FL residence) -- how was it so quick for them? any thoughts?

Added myself to the list. Word of advice, keep your package as slim as possible. I had to use a Priority Express mail box, and ended up paying $40.50 for shipping. I mailed off on Saturday, 01/07/2017, USCIS will receive today before 3pm.

I noticed that the auto-population feature isn't very straightforward in the way it operates. If you haven't already, I'd suggest trying to erase your entry in part 4 (actually backspace each character) and re-type your name. Hopefully that might help.

I corrected a typo in part 1 and it wouldn't update in part 7. I had to erase my name altogether in part 1, exit that field, and then re-type in part 1 for it to get updated in part 7.

I tried all that but it didn't work.  At the end, I just printed the application and wrote the name in the acknowledgement box.
