Hi, I am a k-1 visa holder and now in the process of AOS.

I just got an email from USCIS to inform that my case was transferred to another office for processing. I am living in Pennsylvania, and originally informed our case was in MISSOURI SERVICE CENTER by email on Mar. 15th. Today they told me my case was transferred to CA SERVICE CENTER to process.

Does anybody have the same situation happened? Although I will get a notice for explanation, but I am really worried and think it is weird.

Thanks a lot!

First off, don't panic. They send applications to different centers depending on the backlog they have. This is supposed to make things move faster. Now, there is an urban legend floating around (meaning it was based on some fact but isn't necessarily true) that transfering to CSC is a good thing and you will be approved without needing an interview.

Nothing I say is legal advice. I recommend you consult a qualified immigration attorney for any questions you may have.

They don't require an interivew on all apps anyhow.

Life's just a crazy ride on a run away train

You can't go back for what you've missed

So make it count, hold on tight find a way to make it right

You only get one trip

So make it good, make it last 'cause it all flies by so fast

You only get one trip

It is no urban legend, it is true. Majority, if not all, of the people who I've heard or read about in this and several other message boards had no interviews and received their green cards.

So, you are most likely another one of the lucky ones...

So far those whose files were transferred to CSC have been approved without interview. However, there have been a couple of cases I've seen whose files were moved to another service center or moved to a district office for final processing. If you want to read more about CSC transferees, there is a link in my signature. You'll have to jump quite a ways though as it's a huge post by now.

Well in my case I always seem to be the exception rather than the rule... so I don't get my hopes up on what happens to everyone else. (Like my I-130 was approved before my I-129F, which still hasn't moved, despite a whole bunch of other cases where both applications were approved at the same time.)

Nothing I say is legal advice. I recommend you consult a qualified immigration attorney for any questions you may have.
