Thank you, so the cases on my local office are schedule different vawa from marriage AOS, are they schedule in different order? Or in the order they are received both together? I am asking this because my sister filed Aos trought marriage on december 22, 2016 and she has already an interview date for june 7th, so assuming my case is in local office would they put it on the line for Aos or is there a waiting line for marriage and a different from vawa haha i dont know if im explaining myself sorry

Hello All,

I see some posts saying that they are currently processing July/August 2016 applications. My application was received July 6th of last year. I have not heard anything yet - not even RFEs.

How common is that you will get an RFE early on in the process? Lots of people got RFEs months ago for July 2016 applications. Is it common to not hear anything this long?

Thanks for your help and advice.

Hello All,

What a coincidence! I posted the above this morning with great anxiety, and I heard about a half an hour ago that my I-360 was approved! My application was received on July 6th, 2016. I did not receive any RFEs or hear anything back after my biometrics appointment in August. Then all of a sudden I received notice that it was approved today! My field office is currently processing I-485s received in July 2016, so I have 11 more months-ish to wait, but this is a HUGE step and a HUGE relief.

I feel so validated and so very grateful. Thank you all for your support on here whenever I have had a question.

Good luck to everyone else in the process. To others who applied in July 2016 and have not heard yet - you will probably be hearing soon from VSC.

Love to everyone here. :-)

All cases are adjudicated in the order USCIS  received the cases. It's unusual your sister's case, because the timeline is showing they are adjudicating AOS filed in October 2016, not in December 2016.

Azalea your local office is adjudicating the cases received around September 20, 2016. They are showing July 2016 but the timeline was published in Feburary,2017.

If your VAWA was approved today then your case will get in the local office maybe within 2 months, because the case will go to NBC first then local office.

Congratulations.

Is the police clearance the same thing as "good moral character "? And also should u submit the police clearance and receive no more RFE does that mean ur case is being actively processed?

To prove good moral character the person has to submit police clearance. You can receive RFE anytime during the adjudication process.USCIS when receives the VAWA petition they just check if you could establish prima facie, and to establish prima facie you must submit basic things such as proof of good  moral character, proof of the marriage, proof of commune residence etc...they are not deciding about abuse and bonafide marriage yet, they will decide about this after 6/8 months .
