Hi, everyone!

Today after working on my VAWA case for more than 1 year and a half, I have finally received the APPROVAL from USCIS !!!! I am still finding it hard to believe it and feel like I'm dreaming. I am so grateful to God and to my attorney.  Praise the LORD!

"He will make your innocence radiate like the dawn, and the justice of your cause will shine like the noonday sun."

Psalm 37:6

That is wonderful. I am happy for you. This is really encouraging and I know that all of us will get approve in Jesus name. The Lord sees all that we have been through.

All they are saying is that they received the extra documents that you sent in. They usually would review its contents before adding it to your file.

i have same update from over a month ago as well

Hello All,

I see some posts saying that they are currently processing July/August 2016 applications. My application was received July 6th of last year. I have not heard anything yet - not even RFEs.

How common is that you will get an RFE early on in the process? Lots of people got RFEs months ago for July 2016 applications. Is it common to not hear anything this long?

Thanks for your help and advice.

Hi @sandranj

I have a $575 question!!

I followed the instructions you kindly provided me before and since you're busy I summed it up below, Please provide me with your input:

- I filed (I-360, I-485 & I-765)  and fees were waived more than 5 months ago......    I wanted to file I-131 for family medical emergency

According to I-131 instructions there is no fee with a pending AOS

THE PROBLEM

1- I applied for Advance Parole based on the pending I-1485 with copy of my 797C NOA, it was rejected because it didn't include a fee

2- I applied again with the I-485 NOA and even a I-912  fee waiver It was rejected again!

3- I called USCIS customer service they told me I shouldn't pay a fee so I applied again (this is the TIRRRD time) with I-131 & copy of my 797C and still put in I-912 and copy of my Medicaid (listed as means of tested benefit).

Guess what, I went to infopass to inquire and they told me it's been rejected too!!!!!!!!!!!! what the heck am I doing wrong I included the necessary proof of AOS which should be enough!!!

I called customer service again just a moment ago they told me this is very confusing to them and states AS of Jul 2007 anyone who applies for I-131 based on a pending AOS is NOT required to pay a fee!

@gramercy How long did it take from sending your I-131 application until you received their decision?

I filed for mine 3 weeks ago and haven't heard back from my attorney about it yet and am wondering what the usual time is until you hear back. I filed my package including a fee waiver back in December but just recently filed for I-131 and your post makes me worried a little.

That's weird. There must be a mistake somewhere. I don't entirely trust those uscis customer service people, sometimes they give wrong information. She might want to schedule an infopass to find out what is really going on.

It means they are reviewing the case to see if you submitted what they asked in the RFE.

90% of the time USCIS issues RFE just when they are going to adjudicate the VAWA( AFTER 6/9 MONTHS). If the person fails to submit the police clearance then they issue the RFE after 30/60 days from the date they received the I-360.

Is the police clearance the same thing as "good moral character "? And also should u submit the police clearance and receive no more RFE does that mean ur case is being actively processed?

Thanks, Sandra. I did submit the police clearance. So, I hope that I hear soon from them re: adjudication. Fingers crossed that I won't need any RFEs. Good luck to everyone else too!

It usually takes 30/40 days to ship to the local office.

If you submitted the I-485 form after VAWA approval then the AOS goes to Vermont first, then Vermont ships the case to NBC and NBC  ships to the local office.
