Well I wish u luck. My RFE was based on good moral character too. Why hasn't ur lawyer sent it to uscis yet? I think they put a hold on ur application till they receive the RFE before they start working on it again.

They r working on August 2016 now so u still have time and don't be stressed about nothing yet

Thank you..

ive been trying to contact the lawyer but she is not responding. Maybe she is busy? But I mailed her to send me the tracking when she forwards it to Vermont. Hopefully she replies today.

See in my opinion paying these lawyers are waste of the merger resources we have. They really are nonchalant about us. My lawyer doesn't remember me or my case every time I go see him. I have learned so much on this thread and I am very well educated so I am going to do the rest on my own.

U alone know how this is important to u the lawyer just wants to make money off u and as many other people they r representing. It is difficult to find lawyers that will really put their heart into these stuffs and that's why I am grateful to Sandranj and this thread.

It's the first time I've dealt with lawyers in my life. Experience is really the best teacher. I paid the lawyer upfront as she asked for it, now I just want to at least get out what I need from her.

I agree. People like Sandranj are very rare. The universe will definitely give her back for the good karma she's doing by helping, no doubt.

Stay  on this thread, get enough information and pick sandra' brain often and I promise u will in no time be confident enough to file for urself. Good luck mate

Exactly! Only reason why I didn't bother using a lawyer. Not only is it a waste of money, In my opinion, they make the process even slower... It's sad to see people talking about how their lawyers don't care about them except the money being paid or how their lawyers take forever to return their calls or send out their RFEs..

Vawa is not complicated to file if one carefully follows online resources and gathers the needed documentation carefully.

The only time that I can understand why a lawyer will be needed is if someone has an extremely complicated situation such as a criminal conviction or some issue that makes the filing difficult..

U got that right. I was in a desperate situation back then and couldn't think for myself. But I see better now

Hello Everyone!

i just received another letter saying that in order to speed up my i-485 they transfered my case to USCIS-Nbc and that office will notify me Of the decision made on this aplication or petition.

any thoughts based on experiences you'all have seen before?

thank you all!

Sadness it seems your VAWA was approved. Vermont does not transfer AOS based in VAWA cases to NBC without approval.I checked the USCIS workload transfer and Vermont did not transfer this year any I-485 to be adjudicated by NBC, last week they transferred to NBC  just some forms I-765 for people who has F, M and J visa.

Vermont ships all VAWA/AOS cases approved to NBC and the NBC ships to local office. Set up an appointment with infopass to find out what is going on, you will not believe the number of cases approved and the petitioners never got any email or approval letter.

Thank you! How long after did it update when you sent your RFE?

i sent my I-360 this march. They sent me a RFE for good moral in April. I sent it to lawyer but she hasn't forwarded it to Vermont yet. Actually let me post my timeline so far although it's not much...

USCIS will not adjudicate your case until you submit what they asked in the RFE.

@sandranjsame for me too, even though I did update my address my upcoming interview notice was sent to my old address but aside updating the uscis using online form ar11, I also set up mail forwarding with usps and that was how I got my interview notice.

As I  mentioned here a few times, everytime you update your address wait 10 days and go to infopass because most of the time they did not update the address.

Is infopass to inquire about vawa approval done at local office or Vermont?

Does local office disclose decision on vawa if the petitioner doesn't know his/her status?

Hundreds of people visit this thread every month then if you are a licensed psychologist or attorney reading this message I need your help, please step up to help the survivors of domestic violence, free of charge. I receive hundreds of emails every month asking my help and I can't help everyone.

I don't disclose here the cases that I help but  I often read horrific cases of abuse. Many survivors here had miscarriages as a direct result of the wounds inflicted by the abusers.  I had cases of victims locked inside the house for days without food, I had many cases of women left with a broken nose, broken ribs, head injuries, two cases they needed surgery because their body were burnt etc.  The unseen scars of victims of mental abuse leave many survivors traumatized and many don't ever get over it.

One day I read a quote once hat said, "Compassion is the sometimes fatal capacity for feeling what is like to live inside somebody else's  skin. It's the knowledge that there can never really be any peace and joy for me until there is peace and joy finally for you too".

I hope I can find here professionals with this fatal capacity.
