I am sorry your lawyer sent to the wrong place. I cannot believe that some lawyers don't do the research they need in order to submit a vawa petition. I have no idea what is gonna happen. Maybe they will send you back and you can send to the right place. Good luck!

Hello everybody!

i understand that most of you here apply for vawa concurrently sending the aos package all at once and probably will not know much about this process when you do it separately like i did, but ive got to ask!

well i decided to send it and thank God plus sandras good advices my i-360 got approve already.

ok so i went ahead and sent my aos package and it was received on march 24 (biometrics will be on may 1)

couple days after i received my first NOA i decided not to check my case status online till i get my interview letter so i wouldnt stress it anymore right, but i couldnt help it and i checked it few minutes ago and it says that on april 24 my case was  transfered to a new office which now has jurisdiction on it.

my questions is... is it normal?

And if anyone here has seen a similar case, how long after biometrics should i expect my EAD or interview?

Yes it's normal. Once your vawa has been approved, your i485 gets transferred to NBC and then your local office for adjudication and scheduling of interview. After biometrics, you can get your EAD anytime btw 30-90 days. Sometimes even faster.

Call uscis customer service and ask them what can be done. I once sent my Advance parole application to the wrong location for processing and it was never processed. All I got in the mail months later was an EAD card with no AP! I called and they said they never received my AP application, it wasn't on the system. Probably got lost due to wrong filing office or they trashed it. You would be extremely lucky if they return it to you. Your best bet would be to call and find out how you can get it back. Your lawyer was very careless

You send everything to the same office handling your case (VAWA-->Vermont Service Center)

 When Vermont approves the case they ship the file electronically to the local office,  after a few hours the local office ships the case to NBC, then  NBC after 30/45 days ship the case back to the local office.

Look I saw a few cases where the attorneys submitted to Chicago the VAWA and 2 cases they re-routed the application to Vermont, it took over two months, and the other cases that  I saw they returned the file to the petitioner.
