@sandranj I did call the uscis and requested to speak to a level 2 officer, I explained to him everything about my earlier i485 denied due my spouse withdrawing her i130 petition, and I've a notice for an interview for that same denied petition. He told me on their system it shows the same to appear for the interview and assured me not to worry about the denial notice. He added that I should expect in the mail the interview instructions.

At the moment I'm not okay with this answer. My next step is to set an info pass appointment to clarify my confusion and doubt.

Just go to the interview. Who knows, this may be God working in your favor.

Hi Everyone: This is just a heads up so no one shares info or falls for this.

I received a horrifying call today, a lady called claiming to be an investigation officer from IRS said they sent me mail and since I haven't responded there are three charges against me and a warrant shall be issued for my arrest, we got disconnected I called back in panic?

My concerns were: I lived as a ghost and never claimed anything or filed  anything since I was out of status and why didn't I get that alleged mail???

I remembered sandranj said anything before filing VAWA doesn't matter & what counts is once you file so I was so confused!

I had a meltdown she said she will try speak with her superiors to help me. then asked if there is an amount I am able to pay now from the few thousands I owe!!!  I explained to her I have nothing & no means so she told me to calm down and that I won't be arrested just look out for the mail in 15 days and respond promptly to clear up this matter!

I was scared but things didn't add up so as soon as she hung up the call I started to google this came up even before I finished typing "IRS called me about a warrant"  it's a scam targeting people specially with foreign names (immigrants scare fast I guess) I didn't think much of her indian accent until a report stated some operate using magic jack in india!

https://www.pindrop.com/irs-phone-scam-live-call_analysis/

Without a doubt, it sounds like a scam.

Hi Sandra.  I have been in this in this forum for just over a week and I have been reading old posts. I need to tell you thank you for all you do here; for always be willing to help. I admire you! Anyway, I have a question for you. Forgive me if you have  already answered a similar question, but I could not find anything similar yet to my situation. I sent my petition on the end of Sep 16. I am thinking now to apply for my I-485 and I-765. I want to ask for fee waiver, but I have a doubt about household. Since I left my ex-husband,  I have been living with my sister.  She is married and has kids. For what I understood, doing my research about this form, I am not part of her household, right? Then, my household is just me?  I need to explain my situation and tell that my sister is the  one providing for me now, right? Does she need to write something to support this information too?  (Desde já, obrigada!)

 It may take 5/6months to have your petition for naturalization adjudicated. To expedite you have to demonstrate that  one or more of the following  expedite criteria have been met

  • Severe financial loss to company or person ;
  • Emergency situation;
  • Humanitarian reasons;
  • Nonprofit organization whose request is in furtherance of the cultural and social interests of the United States ;
  • Department of Defense or  i nterest s ituation (These particular expedite requests must come from an official U.S. government entity and state that delay will be detrimental to the government.);
  • USCIS error; or
  • Compelling interest of USCIS.

Thank you.I got an email from USCIS saying I am in line for interview.What that means?it also stated " we started the interview scheduling process for your Form N400, APPLICATION FOR NATURALIZATION, Receipt Number NBC*xxxxxxxx. We will send you an interview notice. Please follow any instructions in the notice. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address. "

so when I expect my interview?

You can be living with a relative, friend or still with the spouse and qualify to request a fee waiver based on one of the following:

1) receiving means of tested benefits (Medicaid, snap...etc).....               check instructions to see which other benefits qualify

2) low income: below 150% of federal poverty guidelines

3) financial hardship (explain your expenses & financial situation or reason you can't afford to have extra fees

Thank you, gramercy for always be nice!

I understand this part, but I am still confused about household. The way the  form instructions defines household don´t include me  in my sister´s. I am not in her tax return.

Yes, you are not part of her household.If you do not work put that your income is zero and explain in the form I-912 that you don't have any assets or savings.If you have a bank account then submit your bank statement as well.

Hello everyone!

How do I report my USC spouse for telling USCIS that I married him for GC? I have proof the ours is a genuine marriage and not a scam for GC. This is because he will pull out his affidavit of support and I will have to file another one.

Hi Strife

I don't think you can do much based on an assumption that he "will pull out his affidavit" since he may still leave it pending, you will know if your AOS is denied.

You may file a self petition under VAWA if you are a victim of abuse.

If you file VAWA, request to hold your I-1485 until a decision is made about your petition OR if your spouse actually withdraws his petition then you file a new one.
