Yes.

Your lawyer is either careless or very inexperienced.

When you file for VAWA you're eligible to file I-765 (c9) + I-131 & I-485  concurrently... if Vawa is denied there is a risk of being put in removal proceedings... So

Some people choose to file VAWA I-360 alone and then wait for approval first!

Your attorney filed the I-360 + I-485 already  so you did take the risk, it makes no sense to not file your I-765 so you can work and make money!!!! you could have received your EAD since October 2016!    :o

What is wrong with that person?  she just caused you to wait for absolutely no reason at all!!!!

Did you not fill out the form I-765??? anyway let's focus on the good, congrats on your VAWA approval!

Now you really should go to your congressman as soon as possible to inquire and request to expedite your AOS

It takes 3 months (sometimes more)!

If you have your representative expedite it for you it can be sooner than that!

If it's possible for your to request expediting your AOS as well then you will get your greencard instead of drawing a new circle and run inside it for months!

A couple of ladies here filed in July 2016 and got approved by mid Februay 2017 judging by that time frame I'm hoping your case gets approved soon..

note: some have been waiting for over a year so don't panic you can schedule infopass to inquire and also remember to renew your prima facie before it expires.

Did you also file for I-765 & I-485?

Thank you. I hope I don´t need to wait more than a year to get an answer. This process of don´t know what is going to happen to me is really hard. If I am not approved, probably I will go back to my country. I am tired of don´t being able to provide to myself.

No, I just filed the I-360. I did my process alone, then I was not sure if my case was good enough. Also, I did not have the money for pay for them.

I did not renew my prima facie. I thought that we just could get food stamp through it, then I never used it.

Ok. I will. I dont get any benefits from it but its just something that i keep with me because its the only valid and current paperwork that i have. I sent my i360 july 2016. Got Prima facie on october 2016. Havent heard anything since. As far as time frame, should i be worried? I check my status and processing times all the time but nothing is happenning.

Hi. Which day in JULY did your receipt number say? Mine is August and just trying to find how closer they are to processing my I-360.

If your Spouse is a USC you can apply for I-765 & I-485 and perhaps a letter to renew your prima facie.

Now you really should go to your congressman as soon as possible to inquire and request to expedite your AOS

http://www.house.gov/htbin/findrep

The Congress person CANNOT ask to expedite a petition, just the self petitoner or her/his attorney. The Congress person can just inquire on behalf of the petitoner if the Vawa/AOS is taking long time to be adjudicated.

Hi Sandranj

Can't they at least assist her expediting her ead while she waits for her infopass appointment?

How does one properly request to expedite vawa/aos?
