Hello everyone. I came across this forum on Friday and I have been reading all the experiences and the journeys. Which leads me to share mine as well. I will be short,  I met my USC husband in 2011, got married in 2015. He was abusive there was this one time I had to call the police. He then cancelled the petition, I have already done my biometrics and was waiting for my work permit in the mail.

 

I file i360 and i485  concurrently 

12/13/16 mailed i360 and i485 to Vermont...

2/2/17 received  i797c (receipt) from USCIS

2/17/17 received appt notice for biometric 

3/1/17 I did biometric 

 now I am waiting for me EAD. Please be in courage everyone because God is in control. Let us pray for each other in such a time as this.

Today in the mail, I received a Prima Facie extension through October 2017. The thing is, I didn't apply for an extension. Is that normal for them to just renew the Prima Facie without me reapplying for it. What does it mean.

 

It has the same language as my original one that said we don't expect to make a decision in the next 180days. I thought they were processing July now and August will be this month or next month. Any August 2016 filers here with notes to compare?

I filed my I360 in May 2016 and I got a prima facie extension in Jan 2017, however i did not apply the extension as well. It is very strange, but the same thing happened to me as well.

You guys are lucky! I helped a lady filed extension of Prima Facie twice but no responses and no new Prima Facie revived. Fortunately, her EAD has been approved and she does not need Prima Facie anymore.

True. The only thing made me extremely frustrated is I have not received any result yet. I heard many people applied after me already got the approval. Moreover, I cannot even get to the USCIS representative since the high volume of the calls ... the only thing we can do now is pray for the bless ...

Did you file i765? Because that's the only way you will get EAD. Your write  up only says you filed for vawa and AOS

No I did not file i765. I was advise by an attorney and he didn't mention I i765.

You might want to schedule an info pass appointment so that you can walk in and talk to an IO, they might have already approved you but you just don't know

If your estranged spouse is a US citizen, you can file i485,i765 and i360 at the same time. Without filing i765, you can't get an EAD. So you might want to go ahead and file that at Vermont since you already have pending i485. Just attach copies of your receipts for i360 and i485 when you mail in your i765 application

The person with a valid prima facie can apply for public benefit, specially medicaid, and the person can file for FAFSA as well.
