Good morning all,

Today I received the best news I have ever had in a long time. My application was approved!!! I filed VAWA in May 2016. On March 13th, the congressman office contacted me and said USCIS has made a decision on my case, but they did not tell exactly what the decision was. I waited and kept on checking the case status everyday but nothing changed. I was stressful, worried, and depressed. I cried and could not sleep at night. So I made an infopass for today. The officer told me that my case was approved on March 8th. He also advised me to do a FOIA to request for the approval notice.

I hope this gives other members hope and keep praying to God. He is listening to you.

Did you receive an RFE at any point of your application?

What is your case status if you check online at the following link, RFE received or something else?

hello guys, I want to ask you- how had an experience to contact to a congressman about your case? I am going to do this week. My attorney doesn't answer me, I think I have to do it by my own.

DO I have to call there? Or I have to write in an email and they send me forms? How does it work? How long does it take?

What I have to say to a congressman?

Amaya I can review your affidavit. If you suffered just mental abuse do you have a psychological evaluation?

I actually had my first appointment today and she told me that I might have depression and anxiety after everything that happened as a result of a traumatic family experience

Hello everyone

I really need a useful straight to the point answer for this question:

Has anyone here filed form I-131 separately with 912 fee waiver and got approved?  please guide me through this.

Additional info:

  1. I have a pending (I-485 & I-360 with fees waived)
  2. I sent my I-131 separately for humanitarian reason (to visit a sick parent) I sent it by itself with the cover letter and supporting documents as I thought if I have a i485 pending I don't need to pay fees or request waivers
  3. My form was rejected and sent back to me  because I didn't include a fee which I can't afford yet so I'd like to know if it's likely to be approved with a 912.

I would use my Senator.  They each have their own website and there should be a section on immigration.  You will have to print the permission forms and fax them.

You can call the congress person office and they will send you a form that you have to sign authorizing USCIS to disclose your VAWA with him/her. I suggest that you contact your  Congress Person not the Senator.

What happens when someone works with an expired EAD. Does immigration/uscis ever find out? Just wondering

If it's discovered it will jeopardize their AOS, you should request renewal 2-3 months before expiration
