October 2016: Vawa Approved

I had no RFE.

What was your proof of abuse pls? You must have had a Well prepared application to have been approved with no RFE

I had a stay away and order protection from my husband but expired this month can I still send it as evidence??

You might want to ask for an extension of the protective order before you mail it in. I heard only valid protective orders are accepted as proof of abuse.

Here is a list of the documents i provided:

-Psychological evaluation. About 5-6 pages.

-Affidavits from friends who witnessed the physical and psychological abuse from wife

- Joint bank statements and receipts illustrating financial abuse from wife

I hope that it helps.

Hello guys, I just want to ask about a background check,

i had an interview and after that they said FBI needs to do background check, since my fingerprints were already expired.

Does anyone know how long as usual it takes ? I read on the internet that it can last up to several years??

its been about 3 months already.

I never had problems with a police, no tickets no crimes, nothing. I don't understand why does it take so long ?

aquila You should asK your mom and one sibling to write down an affidavit .Any document that is not in English must be translated.

There is one person here that contacted me after her VAWA was denied,  I did not help her with because she had an attorney, she submitted 15 affidavits and she was denied.  USCIS knows that 60% of the marriage are sham marriages, and people that get married to gain benefit usually do not involve the family, then submit your mom or father affidavit.

Lets week someone asked my help, but no one single person of his family knows about his marriage and  I decided not to help him, there is no doubt in my mind that he has a sham marriage.

Hello Sandra,

did you have any client before, whose background checks while getting a green card lasted years ?

I had an interview three months ago and after I didn't get anything from USCIS.

They keep saying that FBI does a background check. I didn't have any problems before with police. No tickets no nothing. I read that background check can last years or so. Im very frustrated and sad.

Yes, 5th January. After 11 days -3 months.

I called to USCIS they said " there is no time frame" for background check. So infopass won't help at all. So I have to wait. But I don't understand why does it take so long. I m afraid if go to local USCIS I can make things worse. I don't know what to do. After how many months I have to do "congressman inquiry"?

I am no expert but I looked it up quick for you, from what I found it shouldn't take longer than 60 days. Go to your congressman right away and have them inquire on your behalf.
