Hi guys,

I am on my 2nd prima facie, and so far no RFE or request for police clearance documents. Is it because I had previously filed AOS with my former spouse? Should I do one or wait to see if they ask? Has anyone had their I-360 and AOS approved without submitting police clearance documents?

I look forward to hearing from you guys.

RonandJay It's wise to submit your police clearance and whatever supporting documents you have with the blue receipt you got with your prima facie.

Every time you get RFE your case will be delayed since it's still a bureaucratic system, but if you don't mind stretching your case timeline, that's your call.

If you didn't submit anything to prove good moral character, then yes you should submit your police clearance, don't wait for RFE

Yes I already got my state background check with the gold seal and submitted with my vawa application. Do u think that can cover for police clearance if I can't obtain it?

Go to the your County Sheriff's office and ask for criminal history record, that's what they gave to me when I needed Police Clearance Report and they told me that criminal history record is Police Clearance, my County Sheriffs Office, and I submitted it with my VAWA application so far so good, haven't hear RFE for that...Don't worry too much if they haven't sent you RFE about it yet, you never know, maybe they wont even ask for it.

I have a question: When they approve your case, does it also show on the case status system online? This Monday my congressman office told me they have made a decision on my case; however, they did not tell my congressman what the decision was. They said they would mail out the decision by the end of this week. Up to now I haven't received any mails nor seen any updates on the case status online. I'm worried.

I submitted a letter from a pastor and I wrote my affidavit letter (explaining and giving examples of my good moral character). I was thinking they didn't ask for a police clearance because I had gotten to the point of my greencard interview, and had a work permit before filing vawa.

Hi,prayandbelieve. In my case i check my case status online and said that my case was approved on august 5 and that they would mail me a letter with the approval notice.  After  a week i received the letter of approval and the date of approval was like 2 weeks before august 5. That means that they sometimes do not update cases the same day of approval.

Hey guys,

Has anyone else been receiving emails from the USCIS asking you to participate in a survey? I received two, one is for $100 and the other is for free. It looks legitimate, but I don't think I want to do it. What do you guys think?
