armorcannon you need to submit proof that the cash assistance and food stamp is for your child. You can have medicaid for you ok, it's not considered public charge.

When should I do it? When they ask? 2 months later I'll be waiting for a whole year just for the I-360 approval. :(

Folks I think I was clearly regarding  I-765V instructions. The form I-765 V is for ABUSED SPOUSES married to FOREIGN NATIONALS  that entered in the U.S with one of these visas  A-1, A-2, A-3,  H-1B, H-1B1, H-2A, H-2B, H-3, and H-4 , G1,G,2,G3, G,4, G5  AND E-3).

Adela if your friend proves that she suffered abuse and her husband entered with H1B visa she qualifies for a work permit, but she won’t   get GC just because of the I-765A.

Mariposa2 It will not affect your case if you received food stamps for a while and stopped using when you got your work permit. NYC does not give food stamp for Vawa petitioners. But you can get MEDICAID.

What about childcare assistance?
