Even if you work full time you may still be eligible for benefits depending on how much you make and the number of your dependents. Your eligibility depends on where you fall under the poverty guidelines. Just be honest about your income when you apply.

depends on a state, some states have 20k some 13k. In groceries stores people get 11-14 doll/h, if you work 40h there, you will not get anything from the government.

But as I told, better to be strong and find a job, with W2 will be easier to move on. To find an apartment, to get a car etc...And regular job helps to be busy and forget about the past.

Grameecy the type of abuse does not affect the processing time ok. They adjudicated the cases in the order the cases are received.

That's good to know.

People think that Medicaid is considered "public charge", BUT IT'S NOT!

https://www.uscis.gov/green-card/green-card-processes-and-procedures/public-charge

It will not affect your naturalization later on if you received food stamps for a while and stopped using when you got your work permit.

DO NOT APPLY FOR CASH ASSISTANCE,  USCIS can deny  your GC because of this ok

ADELLA the information given by your attorney is inaccurate and baseless.  I handled over 6.000 VAWA/AOS cases and 70% of the Vawa petitioners were not working when they got their green cards. It does not make difference if the person is working or not when attending the AOS interview.

Is there anybody in here who has got their Vawa approval between the months of August and December 2016 and has received an interview notice already?

I got vawa approved on 08/13/2016 and i haven't receive interview appointment nor biometrics appointment.  I contacted my congressman and uscis responded back in two days. Saying that my case is pending   background check clearance. But i don't understand how they could be able to do my background check without first taking my biometrics.

Thank you for your response. And yeah it is kind of puzzling that they are doing a background check without taking your biometrics. I really don't know how it works over there. The anticipation is killing me.

Your welcome! Unless they were able to capture my fingerprints when i was arrested in 2011. After i was release from jail i got interviewed by ICE telling me i was deportable. But after about 30 minutes they let me go because i already had an approved I 130 form. I don't know what to think anymore. This is frustrating.  If your case has been pending for more than six months try to contact your congressman , He/she will inquire about your case and have a response in a few days. Then you will know what is happening with your case.
