Hello everyone. I read someone who applied Jun 2016 got approval this February but USCIS processing time says they are working with April 2016!! How does this Times work? I applied September 2016.

Well it says that as of end of January 31st, they were processing April. So I'm guessing as of now, which is March, they should either be currently processing June. Depends on the volume of applications they received in previous months. If all goes well, maybe by June 2017, they would be processing for sept 2016. So fingers crossed, your time will be here pretty soon.

VSC has issued many RFE for petitions filed in the early July of 2016. Although not all I-360 petitions are VAWA, I would still guess VSC starts processing early July's VAWA I-360 petitions.

Question

currently collecting documents to file VAWA, contacted DV shelter stayed at for three days, they do not keep records past so many years, so they no longer have a way to verify support provided.  They are willing to write a statement to this fact, should we have them write the letter?  What information should it state?

I would make an InfoPass appointment and explain that you have not received biometrics letter yet. The local USCIS may figure out the issues and could issue a biometrics appointment for you.

Thank you i will make an infopass.

Just a side question; was ur VAWA based on physical abuse or extreme cruelty/emotional & mental abuse?

Physical, verbal , emotional and mental abuse.

Thanks for the quick response dear, I was trying to figure out from timelines here if the type of abuse affects the processing times... mine is based on extreme cruelty and (verbal, mental) I didn't have physical evidence.

Best of luck with your infopass appointment, let us know how it goes

Hi guys,  I will be going to my local police station next week to obtain a police clearance letter. Is it okay to tell them that it is for immigration purposes or what do you all advice? How did you obtain your police clearance? What should I expect? Is it a quick process? Thanks

Actually going today to get my fingerprint cards for my out of state records.

I read this from a link from Damara

The situation with fingerprints, however, is complicated. Self-petitioners are instructed not to tell the agency or police department that they are requesting state clearance letters for immigration purposes. This is because fingerprinting agencies are obliged to send fingerprints for immigration matters directly to the USCIS--which is NOT what VAWA self-petitioners want. It is better for self-petitioners to tell the agency that they are requesting the state criminal record check for a domestic violence situation.
