How long have you separated from your husband? If it is not too long, call the police office and they probably will accompany you to enter your husband's place and get your documents.

@Godblessme from March 9 am sure he threw them out

Hello guys,  wondering if anyone has the answer to my concern:

I had file AOS with former partner, then life took a turn... filed Vawa.  Evil partner withdraw AOS.  I refilled AOS, waiting for the receipt (fee waiver).

-- Do I need to take further action in regards to old, withdrawn, AOS?

--Should I call USCIS (or request a FOIA) to find out exactly what was said/done when withdrawn the AOS? Does it matter what the former partner told USCIS?

Thank you all so much!

I doubt they have that much time on their hands. Never heard of them doing that.

Yeah, I doubt it too, but they asked me if I still live with the abuser I said no. Then the IO said:"what if we send and investigator" at the end of the interview IO said :" "I would approve your case right now, but since you have a misdemeanor my supervisor has to agree with me to approve it"

He's probably just pulling your legs to see your reaction. Congrats in advance on your approval

1. No further action needs to be taken. Once his support is withdrawn, it is denied. Case closed! Appealing it is useless because it will never be overturned.

2. I doubt that USCIS will give you any information pertaining to that, same way they would not give him any information pertaining to your vawa. It's for their own records. However, his previous actions towards your past application do not affect your future applications. There is no need for you to bother about what he wrote or said before withdrawing his affidavit as it will not be used against you in the future.

All the best...x

Thank you so much for your answers!  All of it makes sense.  I will be probably sleeping better after reading this. :D

I am ready to leave all the craziness behind, help others get through their issues, and turn this awful situation into something good.

Hello everyone! I had my AOS interview today. The IO didn't even asked me the questions on form i485.  She only review my medical form and the transcript of a misdemeanor I had in 2011.  And at the she gave a letter of reason for continuance: your case is being held for review. At this time , USCIS  does not require any further information or documents from you. Should further information or documents be required , you will receive a notice in the mail. We may also schedule you for another interview, you will receive a notice by mail. Otherwise, a final decision will be made once your case is complete.

Anyone have a similar experience?  Or is it bad sign?

It's because the supervisor has to review your file.I saw many times cases like yours andafter a few days they approved, but some cases took even 2 mnths for them to approve.

can someone please send me a sample of witness affidavit that worked for them when filing vawa. What are the little things I should look out for. Thanks

Jenny the person has to write full address, place and date of birth. The person must tell how he/she met you, when how he/she met your husband, what the person knows about the courtship,If they were invited to the wedding, they should describe the weedding day,if they couldnt go then explain why not, if they visited you after the marriage, what they noticed about he couple interaction after the marriage,if they know about the abuse  they have to describe what they saw and when or what they heard and when etc..They have to sworn and the  affidavit must be notarized. Do not send samples of the affidavits to the affiants, because I am sick and tired to see USCIS saying  that the affidavits seems wrriten by the same person, because  the affidavits have same layout, font etc..
