Please continue to say a prayer, mailing VAWA tomorrow.  Befitting to mail it on the darkest day in history.  

 

Advise to all it took a total of 7 months to collect everything that I needed to file.  If you can file FOIA request and get a copy of your immigration file, do so.  I was able to obtain a lot of information from my permanent file to add to my petition.  Without the help of my family, I am not sure how I could manage.  Everyone does not have that, so hang in there, be brave, and it will all work out in God's favor.

TIMELINE:

11/13/2015- Filed Case

11/19/2015- Received reciceipt(NO PRIMA FACIE)

10/6/2016- Sent a hand written letter to USCIS inquiring about status of Case

11/5/2016- RFE received (Bonifides, Criminal History clearance)

1/7/2017- Responded to RFE

5/9/2017- Approved!!

Though she did inform me the burden of proof would be higher with BONAFIDE exemption request.

She helped me with the template identifying the proper law to cite and links that truly helped. GOD BLESS SANDRA!

 

Hi @sandranj, I wanted to find out what template you uses to help @JaneHowe30 I got a rfe similar to hers since I am in removal proceedings. Is there a template to use for the BONAFIDE exemption request

Processing times used to be around 90 days (similar to EAD) but when looking at current processing times on the USCIS website, it spans 200 days, so I am just wondering if this is really true or if anyone here has gotten their AP approved faster than that recently.

 The processing time for all the categories are greatly backlogged. I doubt if the USCIS delay the processing on purpose in order to reduce immigration.

Hi there,

 

Anyone with receipt date in August 2016 still waiting to hear? Also, If I recieved Prima Facie without an RFE is it possible to still get a RFE now before approval?

- Receipt notice date for i360, i485 & i765 Aug 15 2016

- Received Prima Facie Aug 29 2016

- EAD approved Oct 11 2016

- Received new Prima Facie Mar 31 2017

I filed August 23rd, 2016. reciept date August 26 2016. No PF. But yesterday i received RFE to bring Criminal history clearance from my Country. Pls Sandra J or anyone what could this mean? Just Curious

You could still receive an RFE. Receiving a Prima Facie is not indicative that you will not receive any RFEs. However, with an Aug 15 notice date, I'm surprised you haven't received a decision yet! (RFE or otherwise).

By the sounds of it, you received an RFE to prove Good Moral Character for the 3 years prior to filing the case. You'll need police clearance letters from each county that you have resided in the U.S. plus a letter from your home country's police force proving that you have no criminal record.

You can obtain police clearance where you lived for 6 months in the past 3 years. This is to meet the good moral character required for vawa

TIMELINE: sent August 23rd 2016

Vermont received it August 26th 2016.

First RFE Sept 9th 2016. lawyer never told me till March 2017.

Replied RFE April 2017 ( for good moral conduct)

heard nothing more.

August 21st  2017 : Received RFE for Criminal Clearance from my country.....
