Yes! Most vawa applicants go through the interview process. Have you received your notice for an interview?

Yes. It is scheduled on august 28. But in the letter is asking to bring to the interview passport, petitioner, and some other documents.   I don't understand why they ask for the petitioner.

Uscis uses this letter for all AOS cases (living  together and Vawa).Don't  worry about it. In Vawa cases you are the self petitioner, not your spouse.

Hi guys, I have filed the form I 360 under VAWA from abroad and I am waiting on a decision. I was recently offered a full financial aid in my dream college. It is a good college and it starts soon and I do not want to miss it for life. I had already started my application process to the college when I was in the USA and my chances of getting into it was looking good but I came back to my country when my spouse was being increasingly abusive and threatened to kill me or get me deported. Is it possible for me to obtain a student visa to attend this school?

You can't file for a student visa (F-1), which is a non-immigrant visa, while you have a petition for an immigrant visa/GC going as the two contradict each other. It will be impossible for you to prove that you have no intent to immigrate.

Now my ex and I live seperated

if I want divorce  how can I do  without knowing where she live ?

I'm trying to figure it out for myself as well.

It depends where you want to file. Some states allow you to serve by publication while others require serving the spouse in person.

I've heard of people who sometimes move temporarily to for an easier/faster divorce process.

What is your VAWA timeline?

I filed for VAWA on June 26, 2017 and they received it on July 11, 2017. So there is no way for me to be able to go to this college?

The VAWA processing times are currently around 9-10 months, so count your notice date plus processing times. See what semester that puts you at and try to apply again for that time. I am sure a full scholarship is a good enough reason to get your I-485 expedited at that point.

I would suggest for you to just earn money or start earning credits in the country you currently live in, so that you save money and can then get your credits certified/translated into the college credits that are being used here. VAWA takes time and patience, so make the best out of the waiting time you have to pass.

9- 10 months for people in the US. Heard it takes longer when you file from out of the country.

Very unlikely because once you start the immigrant process, you won't be able to get a non immigrant visa.

Hi All,

Is there any September Vawa case approvals?

I have sent my papers on September 29 ,2016 but still no updates.

A few days ago, Sandra said she had two cases filed in October approved but she had many cases filed in September still pending. I guess this month USCIS Probably are working on cases filed in September, October and November.
