She already did counseling and obtained a report though she can submit the psych. report with the blue receipt that came with her prima facie!!!

I find it strange that her lawyer advised to get another costly therapy...then an even worse advise to wait for an RFE instead of sending what she has now!!!

Ok thanks for clearing that up. At this point if the lawyer is not doing what they are paid to do, maybe finding a new one or doing it on her own might be best. 99.99% of the time visa journey has been my lawyer lol. Everything to learn about and understand vawa is through this forum. Some people are just out to take advantage anyway they can. Some lawyers only see dollar signs instead of a victim of abuse trying to survive and make it in life. At times I feel as if they are out to use and abuse in there own way. I wish we had more lawyers or advocates like Sandra who's willing to help and guide on a healing path

Had I known about this forum before, I wouldn't have hired an attorney at all.... more harm than good.

God bless sandranj and reward her for all the help she provides.

When you filed i765 with i485  first time , did you pay fees or did you submit waiver at that time

At the begging i  submitted waiver for i 485 and i 765.  But the first time i applied for ead with category c(31) and this year i used category c(9)  in the i 765 instructions say that if you are renewing ead under category c(9) no fee is required. At least that is what i understood and yet it worked they waive ead fee again.

@sandranj hey Sandra, I just moved to this topic. I noticed you said USCIS doesn't accept any record materials? What about voice records? I have a lot of voice recordings and my husband's own mother and sister actually concerned about my safety. They told me to leave him. Does it help if I get some writing evidence from his sister and mother indicating the cruelty because according to his mother and sister he has been abusive to everyone in his family and he never received any mental help. I have called 911 once and the police actually came but I never let them take pictures of my wounds nor file charges against him. Does the police station still have any record on that incident? Thank you in advance Sandra.

USCIS will accept any recorded material. Look do not screw up your case stating about his "mental illness, as far I know he is not a sociopath or psychopath, that being said let's stop talking about "mental help". Abuse is a choice.

Yes it will help you if his mother and sister give you an affidavit, They should NOTARIZE the affidavits. They should mention place and date of birth and present address. If they are naturalized they should mention this ok.

Ask the police the 911 transcript.Gather affidavits from friends and family stating a bonafide marriage, even from your family abroad. They do not need to know about the abuse but they can give affidavits regarding bonafide marriage. You should attend therapy.

Today someone posted about free therapy here, but I can't remember who posted about it, but she could get free therapy with the program called "United Way", then check this program in your State.

If you do not have a place to stay you should go to a shelter for victims of domestic violence. Call the Domestic  Violence Hotline" to find out about a nearby shelter . If you fear for your life get a restraining order against your spouse. As soon you leave your husband do not disclose your location to anyone.Do not answer his emails or phone calls anymore. Delete him from facebook.

For the united way program they have to ask the therapy facility if they offer psychological evaluation under the program, mine didn't and I had to get a referral to go somewhere else to get an evaluation but the therapy sessions were only 20 dollars a week for 16 weeks. Some might be cheaper it all depends.
