When you filed i765 with i485  first time , did you pay fees or did you submit waiver at that time

What your lawyer did is unethical and unacceptable, the prima facie letter states that you may use it to apply for public benefits, so your attorney 1) kept information from you AND 2) Withheld document(s) that should be given to you to serve your interests. You should ask to be notified about every progress and correspondence regarding your case and she may keep copies but must give you the original.

@gramercy I called her atleast once every two weeks asking about updates..she must have been shocked today when I asked her about prima facie and how do I know about it since she didn't tell me about it ...its funny miss Sandra advise us to get free therapist but this lady sending me to a 2500 one plus her  $5000 fee.so crazy ...i am not doing it sorry .

My lawyer didn't tell me about required documents for vawa for MONTHS and found creative ways to just make me pay more for stuff (instead of police clearance I was sent downtown for background search for $62, would order my spouse's birth certificate with express fees but doesn't confirm the order for weeks! then nights before filing would mention that it is recommended to get therapy for $1500-$2000, and other nickel and dime BS)  knowing I was unemployed & had financial hardship. I sent my application without psychological report, but for my own peace I asked at the DV center and they help me with some form of counseling.

 

Don't stress about it you are not alone some people are just careless about others' life, sandranj is the rest seem to be bottom feeders (That's the nicest word I can think of), If you can't fire your attorney just stay on top of it and let her know she must keep you updated and hand you the originals at all times.

But where do you suggest I do the therapy she already had me doing a 12 week counselling session $800 And said nothing about therapy...

She didn't submit it now today she is telling me to gather more affidativs and do the evaluation but I thought the class I did 1 hour every week was the evaluation.

The what you did every week is go to counseling sessions... you could request a report/psychological evaluation from that therapist to keep just in case.

Even if you do this now... you won't be able to submit anything unless you receive a RFE letter!

 

What did you submit with your vawa/aos packet?? and also how long did she keep the prima facie from you?

I know it's in Vermont.... I just wanted to know what you originally sent?

- I hope you just have a copy of the evaluation knowing your lawyer doesn't serve your best interest

 

Anyway; There is a blue receipt that came with your prima facie you and/or your attorney should send the evaluation and whatever evidence, affidavits or supporting documents you may obtain to help your case.

Hey, look up united way program in your state, I was able to go to therapy under that program and only had to pay 20 dollars a week for a 16 week session. Just call around and ask if they provide that service at there location.

She already did counseling and obtained a report though she can submit the psych. report with the blue receipt that came with her prima facie!!!

 

I find it strange that her lawyer advised to get another costly therapy...then an even worse advise to wait for an RFE instead of sending what she has now!!!
