Hey guys, I have two slight problems here are needed help... I submitted my I765 and I485 to VSC last month. However, since I already moved to another state, I tried to change my address, so I made a request online as the website instructured. Today I got a letter from VSC that they cannot take my inquiry since they need the inquiry in written form and my original signiture, which I do not understand what does it means... Moreover, I think they mess up my first name on I485 somehow and I really need to send an inquiry to inform them to change my first name. May I ask how would I solve both of questions please? Thank you guys a lot for the help.

It states in the instructions that VAWA applicants may NOT change the address online. You must mail the form with proof of the new address to VSC and it's best to schedule infopass and confirm the change. also to make sure your name is correct.

Timeline: 

May 2016 retained an attorney and started to prepare my VAWA petition. 

11/08/2016 mailed my packet

11/28/2016 USCIS rejected my packet (expired forms) :(((  

11/29/2016 Mailed my packet again Via ExpressMail (I-360, I-485, I-864w, I-765, I-912, G-325A) with previous rejection notice on top & a request to expedite EAD

12/14/2016 Date on the NOA  

12/31/2016 Attorney emailed my Prima Facie (Notice date 12/19/2018)   (180 days)

01/14/2017 Mailed my husband’s birth certificate with the blue receipt that came with my Prima Facie

01/17/2018 I-360 online Update (correspondence received)

12/25/2016 Notice for Biometrics

01/12/2017 Biometrics completed

01/31/2017 EAD update (Ordered my new card)

02/04/2017 My first EAD delivered.

02/06/2017 Picked my EAD & applied for SSN

02/14/2017 Applied for state ID

02/15/2017 Applied for Medicaid

06/03/2017 Received my Prima Facie (180 days)

10/22/2017 Mailed EAD Renewal  & AP & Waiver (I-765. I-131, I-912) and request to extend PF

What is the form for changing the address? Also what is the form for changing the name?

Form AR-11 change of address https://www.uscis.gov/ar-11

Not exactly sure about the steps for name change, it can be a bit of a hassle unless you don't mind delays.  But if it they made a mistake with the name one may request to correct the error with proper identification through infopass and/or in writing

Hi, you can read page 7 and bottom of page 10 of this link for advice to your question ... practically tells you what to do when there is an address change

Basically you have to write them, that is the only way they will be able to acknowledge you and change your address. I believe that you can also request for your name change same in same letter.. But reconfirm with sandra

Yes,you have to submit to VSC.

After about 90 days of hard work, my VAWA package is ready for mailing!

The statement is awful to write, it was utterly difficult to relive all that I went through. But I think I did the best I could.

Tomorrow, a trip to the post office early in the morning and then the waiting game begins once more...
