Congrats!!! Enjoy your new life, could you please share your time line so we could know how long it takes for the interview.

and please share your interview.

thanks in advanced!

Thank you and of course ma'am!

June2015 - filed i360

Received a notice that they got my paperwork a week later, but then got a weird notice in the mail, NOT an RFE, but just a blue paper saying that I didn't show proof of anything for VAWA. Was trying to gather all the docs again, but then got the approval notice

December2015 - i360 approved

February2016 - filed i765. Passport was stolen, so I was scared to file for AOS since I had no idea how long it would take to prove my Russian citizenship and get a new passport.

April2016 - EAD approved

May2016 - got my passport, filed i485

July2016 - first biometrics apt, unable to go, rescheduled, but since I moved they had problems updating the address and I didn't get the notice till October. Went and did biometrics without an appointment in October. Around the same time they updated the info on the website and I found out that on August 24th my case was transferred to VT

January 2017 - filed for EAD renewal

March 2017 - got new EAD

May 21st 2017 - interview notice

June13th 2017 - interview

I probably could've done this faster, but I didn't wanna take the risk and wanted to make sure I had my passport and stuff like that.

The interview was about 20 min long. He asked basic questions like where I live, what are my parents' names, when did I enter the US and where, on what status. Asked me about my ex, where he lives etc. I told him that I haven't had any contact with him since I got divorced, he asked for a copy of that paperwork. then asked me all the yes or no questions from AOS application (about drugs, arrests, terrorism etc.). They were recording me and I was answering them under oath. Asked me about my job and if I like it. If I had any questions. As he was about to wrap it up I realized that my medical was expired and I had a new envelope on me. Checked that. Then we argued about my name change for a bit since in my birth certificate they put my dad's name(in Russia we don't use middle names, but we have patronymic name), but I didn't use it in my AOS. In my passport it's just first and last, so he was like ok. Said another IO will review the case and I'll get the answer in the mail.

Oh and I turned my phone for the interview and guess what? It wouldn't turn back on! I'm in another city, in the middle of nowhere, got there on a train, can't even get an uber and my phone says it requires activation! It has never happened in 2,5 yrs I've had it! But luckily the security at the USCIS office called a cab for me and when I got to the train station I could activate it on WiFi.

It's an amazing feeling for it to be over. When I called my sister-in-law or just sister now since I'm divorced she literally started crying and she never ever cries! Then my mother-in-law started crying when I told her! My parents were screaming and went to celebrate that they'll see me soon!

Needless to say I was bawling my eyes out after all of that!

I'd like to leave a thank you note to all of the people (and Sandra, in specific) who contributed or have been contributing with information and assistance on this topic.

I gathered all the evidence and I am finishing the last, most important and most difficult document required for the process: my own statement.

VJ has been invaluable to me. Thank you to everyone!

I'm always happy to come here and see this community strong.

Did USCIS approve your VAWA?. I helped one guy from India and he waited 3 years to get his GC, but he finally got in January 2017

If you are still waiting for the VAWA decision then you should contact VSC over the phone, leave messages every day until they answer your request.

VAWA has not been approved. It has been pending the entire time. Maybe i will do online case inquiries everyday. The phone i found is just the National USCIS phone line.

If you have an attorney he/she can call the  VAWA hotline (802-527-4888) callers can leave detailed messages. USCIS will just return the phone calls if your attorney inquires  the VSC
