@Mnmnm There has to be someway the online status doesn't show anything.... How long has it been since you applied for your EAD?

Worst case scenario some people filed the wrong category when they applied for vawa and submitted new applications, but... I suppose you filed the correct category singe you have done it previously with your souse, please check with @sandranj she must've seen all forms of NOA people receive!

Thanks for replying @gramercy. It's been around 6-7 months since I applied

@sandranj hello Sandra. I need your advice on how to know the category if it's not on the I-797. I hope you can help. Thank you in advance

Hi guys. I need guidance for SSN. I got an EAD card with my marriage name. I changed my name back to my maiden name in the divorce. Can I apply for SSN with the EAD card with the marriage name?

Can I change my name on the SSN since I changed back to my maiden name? Or do I apply for new EAD first before getting a SSN?

I hope i delivered my self clearly.

@Mnmnm   If you already got an EAD with your married name... but now waiting for a new EAD for over 7 months... Is this another new one you submitted to VSC under a new name?

@gramercy sorry if I delivered a confusing message. I haven't gotten any EAD yet. Couple of months ago they mailed my EAD card to my old address. Then it went back to USCIS and they said they are holding it for a year. I sent request to send it back to my new address and I should be getting a response in 3 weeks. I need EAD so I can apply for SSN so I can apply for state licensure in my field.

You should write a request to expedite your EAD and must schedule infopass to make sure your address has been updated so this never happens again and you might also request expediting your EAD again.

I made an infopass appointment last month and changed the address. I have an interview pending with my previous I-485.

Where do I write a letter to expedite the EAD? As far as I know the local office has not yet been informed about my VAWA application so I'm waiting for the interview to request them to hold it in abeyance.

Any future correspondence has to be with VSC that's the office handling your case.

1- Send a written request to expedite your EAD. with supporting documents (proof it was sent to wrong address, also explain why it you need it expedited (financial, legal, medical reasons...etc)

Note: you may want to submit a whole new application since you already didn't want the last name on this one! buy this may take a couple of months

2- a few days later you may ask your congressperson to inquire on your behalf about your EAD.

Hello,

Brazilian National applying for permanent residence through VAWA. Have one specific question about timing.

We submitted my VAWA application (I-360, I-765, I-485) on July 22 2016. Shorty after applying I received my prima facie and refund of application fee. I received my approved I-765 and EAD in September 2016. Just last week, the VAWA application was approved (May 19 2017).

Now that the I-360 is approved, I understand that the VSC will forward my I-485 to the local field office for the AOS review. My question is what is the timing for review/approval for this AOS.

Once the local office receives the 485 docs and approved VAWA, will they sit on it for a year until the processing date comes current or does the local office see that the 485 was submitted on July 22 2016 and use that date to determine review timing.

Hoping to find out if I should expect to wait a couple of weeks/months or a year plus for the AOS and Green Card.

Thanks!

Doesn't take up to a year, based on past posts, it takes approximately 4-6 months for AOS interview to be scheduled from date of vawa approval. I also believe that how fast it goes depends on how backlogged or busy your local office is.

By the way, congratulations on your vawa approval. 😊

If you  have a pending AOS the category you  should put in the form l765 is  ( C ) ( 9 ) (  )

Thank you for the reply @sandranj. But my I-765 is also pending and I'm unknown of the category I put when I applied it with AOS based on marriage. Should I call USCIS and ask about the category?

Since you filed for it during marriage and prior to filing for vawa....You must have put C9, this is the only category that deals with marriage AOS based i765. There's no way you would have put c13 without a pending vawa or  during marriage when you filed with your spouse

You  filed l485  and l765 when  whe you were still  living with ypur  husband and ther only category  existent for this kind the  situation is C 9.. You received the l797 then don't worry you put the right category.

Soo they finally updated the uscis processing times, it says as March 31, i wonder why do they only update until 2 months prior current date, i know their times are not that accurate but i wonder if real time is really counting those 2 months difference ir if they are currently working on the date stated as Mach, for example phoenix says as march they are working on september 27, so my question would be if that is really about march or thats what they are right now
