I paid 200.00, but they wanted to charge anywhere from 500 -800, but I told them it was for VAWA and they reduced the price.

How do they do psychological evaluation? And who is doing this? Center for victims of domestic violence giving me Fred doctor appointment . can he do this evaluation?

Yesterday I received the oder of protection, today he texted me at evening and asked what are these papers at sheriff's office, what r they about. And he pretending that it's not him, he said it's ur husband's friend. And that husband doesn't want to talk to me he is also saying . the problem that he doesn't have any friend. Can sheriff just leave him notification or call? And if I call to police and he already reacived the papers will he be arrested? When I even receive his message I started to have panic attacks, I don't want he communicate with me at such way pretending that it's not him from his number, bit it's really him I know his style of writing.

I got my 10 year GC in the mail today!!! Praise the LORD, thank you for all of your prayers and thank you @sandranj for the help and hope you've given to us all.

They did not change my last name to my maiden name like I had requested in my interview (I am not complaining I am grateful I just don't want to be tied to that man).  Has anyone changed their Last name on their GC?  If so what form and how long does it take for them to do it- can I use my existing GC until they send the new one?

Congrats!!!🎊 could you share your timeline pls

Most States don't give food stamps, you  have to check with the social services in your  State.

If your kids are Americans  they can get food stamps and Tanf (cash)as well.

TAF is Temporary Assistance for Needy Families, you will receive cash assistance for the kids. Go to the Department of Social Services and apply for the kids to receive food stamps and  Tanf. They qualify for Medicaid, TANF and food stamp.

Folks please avoid getting a psychological evaluation after just one therapy session. Attend at least 5/7 sessions. USCIS is very peculiar about this, they ask for the psychologist to write down the number of sessions, your backgrounds, the onset of problems, abuse in details, tests performed, diagnosis, treatment plan, and referral.

People are very confused about an unpleasant marriage and abuse. USCIS considers  "an unpleasant marriage situations of cheating, alcohol/drug addiction, name calling, bisexual partner.

Most Indian people live with their in-laws and often they write in their own affidavitS about the abuse inflicted by the mother-in-Law. Folks having an abusive mother in Law is not a  ground for VAWA.

Telling USCIS that you drink excessively and/or attempted suicide will not proof that you suffered abuse, and it may lead to denial of your VAWA.

I see a counselor at a trauma center, the psychologist does a sliding scale for evaluations when u have no insurance.

Hi Sandranj,

I need your advice. I got a notice that USCIS sent an additional evidence request about a month ago(4/21/17). However, I did not receice their request until today(5/18/17). Once I don't receive the request, do I need to ask them send me a copy?

Another issue is that this additional evidence request is second request. First request was moral and bona-fide marrige so that I sent clearance and additional evidence, and got a Prima Facie. I requested Prima Facie extention the bigining of April, and I got the Prima Facie extention letter at the middle of April. Then, I got additional evidence request in April 21st.

I know you are one of the best expert. DO you have any idea what kind of request they used to send for the second REF? I'm really desperate because it seems there is no more evidence that I can send to USCIS anymore.

Please advise me.

Thank you.

You should request USCIS to submit the RFE again.

https://egov.uscis.gov/e-request/displayNDNForm.do;jsessionid=abcED-ecd1hlH8FjWiCWv?entryPoint=init&sroPageType=ndn

Sometimes they issue one RFE about bonafide marriage and another RFE about abuse, sometimes they issue just one RFE asking about bonafide marriage and abuse. If they believe the person couldn't proof abuse and/or a bonafide marriage they can issue a NOID(NOTICE OF INTENT TO DENY) but USCIS  can deny a VAWA petition without first issuing an RFE or a NOID.

Hello everyone

Can someone give me some advice on what i should do, please?

in 2014 I got GC through VAWA. I Know that i am able to use the three year rule to file citizenship application. I gather information under the naturalization thread, but it seems so vague and unspecific to VAWA.

is there anyone who has done it successfully, recently or otherwise?

Can someone help with a step by step process for naturalization after VAWA?

Thanks in advance

Try to come down and relax, follow Sandra's advice and find out what the RFE is for. Sometimes RFE is not a bad thing at all.
