ok b-4 i start i would like to thank everybody here for the support and just wanted to say (god bless you ).

ok and it went like this

1-fiance was at the door at 7:20am

2-long line

3-he went in and we all know that they have to check papers and all that.

well here is the juicy part

went in they asked him question about my name last my job my mom name and dad name oh and sisters names too.and why my fiance chose me on the net (thats how we met) and mohamed answerd everything but, then they asked him what year i came to the state and he did not know the answer for that.

then the person who was doing the interview told him thats it and my fiance asked him if he got the ok the person told him be patient and they took his passport and told him they will let him know in about 2 weeks ..... so i have no idea what to make of this ... :help:

Sounds pretty standard, Joulie.

Sounds like your fiance is in the standard Cairo AP blackhole. Welcome to the club!

I would call DOS in a couple weeks to see if his case got there.

hi moody... how come they did not let him know if he got the ok and why they took his passport from him and told him they will let him know about 2 weeks , i mean i want to e-mail the embassy just to find out this is killing me

Thanks Joulie!

I think by them keeping his passport, it is a good sign. From what I hear that is standard, saying they will let him know in 2 weeks.

I am happy they did not grill him too much and all went well ! God bless and keep us posted. (F)

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

That sounds strange about the two weeks. Don't they normally tell people the time in months at Cairo? Maybe he is lucky and didn't get a name hit! I'd *love* to get a visa two weeks after an interview!!

That's just what they do. There's really no rhyme or reason to it. My husband was told he was approved and would get the visa in a month. It's now been 4 mos. and nothing. I know others whose husbands weren't told anything and they went through AP same as we have. If you email the embassy you will get a canned response. Like I said, I would call DOS in a couple weeks just to make sure his case got there.

It's too early to tell about name hits. Cairo tells ppl one thing, does another. Keep dreaming on that visa after two weeks. Haven't y'all been on VJ long enough to know the drill?

I hope he'll get it in 2 weeks that'd be a first. But I thought I read from other people's experiences that they are no longer keeping the passports. That's kinda confusing cuz I thought they'd let people go home with it and then ask for it when security clearances were done. Maybe procedures are changing.....don't know what to think. But I do know that those of you who have had interviews months ago have been waiting WAY TOO LONG. They need to get a move on...........

Did they look at any of the proof of relationship like pictures, plane tickets, etc. I spent a while organizing it all & don't want it to go to waste!

M&N...my husband brought photos and other proofs with him to our interview. He practically forced the CO to look at the photos. The CO didn't care to see any of the other proofs. K1 interviews are slightly different than K3 or CR1 interviews (they tend to want to see more proof of a relationship). Also, it depends on the CO.

Joulie, did they make him leave his passport or did they give him a choice?

they said to leav the passport and they did finger print too if that helps

they did look but not a lot .. so i would take whatever i have

They do fingerprints for every interviewee. I think it depends on the CO whether or not they keep the passport. My husband was given the option to take it or leave it.

Joulie, I wouldn't worry about it. Like I said before, it sounds standard. It will take a bit but I believe you'll get your good news eventually (F)
