Hi!

I just had my K1 Medical done on February 12th, and of course the results were submitted at the interview on March 21. I do not have a copy. I now read that we have to submit some medical information for the AOS process.

Can someone tell me what I need for the AOS paperwork....do I need to obtain another copy of the medical results (even though they should be on file since I handed them over at POE!). How can I tell if I have to get more immunizations??? I don't want to have to spend the $$ if I don't have to....

Thanks in advance!

Andre didn't. He never had to show them anything and we never had an interview.

You need to get Vaccination Supplement form filled out by a civil surgeon over here, you'll have to find one in your local area in the US, you can find a civil surgeon through the USCIS website, I'm trying to see if I can find the form for you to download.

You won't need another medical done, you just need to get the Vaccination supplement form filled out. I got my immunization records from my doctor back in England, my mum got a copy for me and sent it over to the US to me, is there anyway you can get a family member to do that? cos it will help greatly when you see the civil surgeon, you may have to have a blood test done, so they can see what antibodies you have.

Unfortunately the medical stuff you handed in at the POE are not used during the processing of the AOS, you have to submit additional paperwork proving your vaccinations.

You will need a vaccination suppliment I-693A form filled out and sealed by a CS here in the USA.

Since you don't have any proof of what vaccinations you have....there is a blood test that can be given to figure out what you need/have had.

If there is any way possible for you to contact the place that did your original medical, it might be worth a try to see if you can get record of your shots. Goodluck

vaccinations needed if you have not already had them at your overseas medical are MMR, TD and varricella for ages 18 - 64.

This is what I could find for the Civil Surgeons http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis/men...00048f3d6a1RCRD

I guess they have changed the site, since I last looked on there to find a civil surgeon, but there is a number on there you can ring.

Hope all that info helps out!

We are just looking at AOS for future reference (hopefully very soon).....and here's what I took from the USCIS website just today!

(g) Vaccinations .

Section 212(a)(1)(A)(ii) of the Act requires all immigrant visa and adjustment of status applicants to establish that they have been vaccinated against certain vaccine-preventable diseases. Section 212(g)(2) of the Act authorizes waivers in certain instances. To implement the vaccination requirements and the corresponding waiver provisions, USCIS developed streamlined procedures whereby certain individuals may be granted a waiver without the need to file a form or pay a fee. Furthermore, those applicants who are not covered under the streamlined procedures may apply for a waiver on an individual basis. Refer to Chapter 41.3(B) for additional information about these procedures.

(2) Effective Date . The vaccination requirements became effective on the IIRIRA enactment date, September 30, 1996, and apply with respect to all immigrant visa and adjustment of status applications filed on or after that date.

(3) Required Vaccinations . Section 212(a)(1)(A)(ii) of the Act specifies the following vaccinations: mumps, measles, rubella, polio, tetanus and diphtheria toxoids, pertussis, Haemophilus influenzae type b, and hepatitis B. Section 212(a)(1)(A)(ii) of the Act states that the applicant is also required to have any other vaccinations recommended by the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP). The ACIP provides guidelines on appropriate doses of vaccines at specific intervals for specific age groups. The varicella, influenza, and pneumococcal vaccines are also required, because they are currently recommended by the ACIP.

(4) Applicability . Section 212(a)(1)(A)(ii) of the Act states that the vaccination requirements apply with respect to anyone who “. . . seeks admission as an immigrant, or who seeks adjustment of status to the status of an alien lawfully admitted for permanent residence . . . .” Thus, the applicability of the vaccination requirements depends on the specific immigration benefit the applicant is seeking. The following list clarifies these distinctions for purposes of section 212(a)(1)(A)(ii) of the Act:

We were thinking that just DTP, MMR and TB were all that we would need...and this says differently???

http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/ty...tml#Vaccination

All applicants for immigrant visas are required to have the following vaccinations, if appropriate, for age, medical condition, or medical history:

Mumps

Measles

Rubella

Polio

Tetanus and diptheria toxoids

Pertussis

Influenza type B

Hepatitis B

Varicella

Pneumococcal

As a fiancé(e), you are not required to fulfill this requirement at the time of your medical examination for a fiancé(e) visa. However, you may want to do so. These vaccinations are required when you adjust status following your marriage.

The doctor at the medical before the interview works from this list as does the civil surgeon in the US. Not sure where you came up with just 3 vaccinations unless it's all your fiance needs based on age and medical history (previous vaccinations).

MMR is measles mumps rubella, TD/P is Tetanus Diptheria Pertusis both of these can be given as 1 shot for each instead of different shots for each one if available at your Doctor.

Also you will need the varicella shot if you have not had chicken pox already, titres test would check for this if not known.
