Submitted RFE for my adjustment of status and realized I forgot to include one of our W2s - what do I do?

Should I just stick it in an envelope and mail it off with a note? Presume I use the Application/petition/request number from the biometrics appointment?

I would add, *hope* for another RFE since they will sometimes just outright deny the application for a deficient RFE response.

I'd be very surprised if they outright deny it since I've sent them around 600 pages of financial info (based on the list of things they asked for) including records from multiple bank accounts including savings accounts, credit cards, utility bills, phone bills, mortgage, house deed, car/home/health insurance, ultrasounds, dependent care FSA, mint.com budgets, plane and train tickets for vacations together etc.

To deny the whole thing because I sent two tax transcripts, four W2s and a 1099 but obviously forgot a single W2 when they have the opportunity to just ask for it...

Again, I'm not saying it won't happen, but I'd be surprised.

Who knows.

Their policies allow them to deny a petition if an RFE response is deficient. By that point you've had two opportunities to provide the requested documents - once with the initial submission, and then again with the RFE - and it's completely up to that adjudicator as to whether they want to give you a third.

Sending tax transcripts instead of tax returns is generally advised here, for the exact reason that the transcript contains everything they need in a single document.

depending on how you mailed it you may be able to have it routed back to you if it has not been delivered yet.

good luck

Ah I didn't know this was a possibility. I've put in a request to have the package intercepted by USPS and returned. Hopefully this is going to work out - I'm out of the country for two weeks (hence me replying to the RFE late - didn't want to get an interview request while I'm not here) but have until Feb 1st to reply, so will be able to address this on my return.

Fingers crossed they're able to intercept.

Yep I get you. And yes, I sent tax transcripts that arrived today from the IRS, and also all of the supporting docs. I went with the documentation version of "kill them with kindness".

As I said in another comment I've applied to have the package intercepted and returned, which looks to have a good chance of being successful as the package hasn't left my city yet, never mind reached the destination city. Once it comes back I can open, amend, and resend.
