Ugh. Post Office Lost Social Security card

My husband applied for his card on Nov 28th, we patiently waited the full two weeks but nothing showed up. SAVE says that it was already returned to the agency Dec 2nd. When we called SSA they could only tell us that he was approved. So we waited patiently another week. Today he went to the SS office to speak to someone in person. They said he should have gotten his card long ago and issued a new one. (They were also very nice and helpful.)

Annoying. Lesson learned - we will go directly to the office next time. But also, we will be talking to our mail carrier and stopping off at the post office tomorrow.

make sure his name is registered to that address. otherwise it may very well getsent back again

understandable, I had as well but my ssn got sent back.

Did the SSA know that your card had been sent back? Ours didn't say this, they just said it must have been lost. Though she did tell my husband to make sure his name was written on the mailbox (it is).

Both me and my husband ss cards went back because our name wasn't on the mailbox. Calling them was even more stressful and I honestly think that's what put me in labor ( our daughter wAs born the next day) that following Monday we went back to social security with our newborn and got the cards Thursday in mail.

I love my husband ?‍?‍?
