My hubby has his medical this past Friday, and they said he needed MMR and DTP, and our son needs Hep B - THey told him he could get them at his GP's. He has rang his GP and the girl seemed clueless. Anyone have any advice as to how to go about this in Scotland? Specifically the Glasgow/Paisley area. I've tried googling but can only find...animal vaccination clinics :P Sometimes he is a bear, but I don't think it'll fly!

Hi Leney,

I would assume the doctors surgery would do this as in most cases there may be a charge like vaccinations for overseas holidays etc. Maybe the receptionist is new. I would try your surgery again and maybe even ask to speak to a doctor. Have you looked on the NHS website or tried NHS 24? I am also in Glasgow and I know mmr was done at the surgery but that was routine for the kids.

He needs to phone them up again and say he need some vaccinations done and make an appointment with the practice nurse. You probably won't be charged for the MMR and DTP but you will for the Hep B, which is three shots.

Once there you can explain to the Practice Nurse what needs to be done.
