Hi Everyone!

I just made the move from Canada on a K1 (this past weekend), so I have now joined this forum!

My Fiance and I are planning on doing the Civil Ceremony this week. I would like my SS # to be issued in my married name, so I am going to wait until I have the certificate before I apply for SS#. Also, I believe you have to wait 2 weeks anyway to ensure that the I-94 is in the system.

My question is this: do you have to have your SS# to apply for AOS & EAD? Obviously, we want to adjust as soon as possible after we get married, so will we have to wait until the SS# comes?

You don't need the SSN to apply for EAD and AOS. Just put N/A.

No, you don't need to have the SSN for AOS/EAD applications. Congrats on your recent move and coming marriage :thumbs:
